Also, because of point 2 of this list, they should probably be excluded from being a region that shows up as a possible card, (in case of nuke or zombie cards).
- A territory that works like any other territory, except you can't deploy on it
Specifics/Details:
- It's not possible to deploy on the territory, but it can have borders, it can start neutral, it can have decay/autodeploy it can be part of a continent etc.
- (Maybe have it optionally hidden, so that it doesn't even show up on the map at all, and does not count towards the number of territories owned, but this is less important and should probably be optional)
- Because of some of the benefits and reasons behind this suggestion, the territories should also be excluded from the 'card deck' as you do not want these regions to be nuked/zombiefied (this could be an optional option, but it's crucial in some cases)
How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
- It could provide maps with some restrictions on certain territories, would especially be a restriction in escalating and trench maps
- More importantly, in some maps in development, Clash of Kings for example, could use non-deployable territories to know what 'type' of player the owner of the territory is. This could create maps where each player plays by different 'rules' to have an asymmetrically balanced map. (For example orcs versus elves) The non-deployable territory would be part of the starting territories and would not connect to any other territory and would just be a 'placeholder' to know which 'race' or 'side' the owner of the territory is. The reason why it should be non-deployable is mostly because you don't want the territory to affect gameplay, and you don't want someone to accidentally get their troops stuck there.
- Some creative mapmaker probably can think of more uses.
Also, because of point 2 of this list, they should probably be excluded from being a region that shows up as a possible card, (in case of nuke or zombie cards).
