New Interface Suggestions

Postby EBConquer on Fri Jan 10, 2014 7:53 pm

Concise description:

  • I'd like to maybe start the wheels turning (if they're not already) to improve this new user interface and below are a few things that really pop out at me. I've searched the suggs forum and didn't come across this stuff so here it is. Also, do I need to make these into seperate threads?

Specifics/Details:

The ability to:
  • Move the panels "above the map" versus just on the right and bottom.
  • Make all the panels re-sizable and be able to put them anywhere you want (top, bottom, right) in relationship w/ each other then being able to pin them down so they don't resize the way the current "actions" panel does when floated. For example: being able to position & click "take snap" & "analyze snap" on the very top of the map.
  • Be able to deploy one troop at a time w/ the sites built in clickable maps (sorry if this is already do-able, haven't figured it out yet as I just made the switch)
  • Include assault odds w/ the new interface as the add-on script doesn't work at all w/ the advanced panels turned on in the settings pane.
  • Include "chatglove" into the UI even though Foxy is doing a fabulous job keeping up w/ it. :)

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
Well, I know this UI is a work in progress and I didn't see anything in the forum so would like it to not be overlooked when moving on to other things. I would really like to start using this new set-up full-time as the future potential is huge, but it seems a bit more cumbersome due to not being able to put the panels exactly where you want them to go as I think it was originally intended. I realize all this takes time to do but at least it's now on the table.

I just figured out that you can use the scroll wheel to deploy 1 troop at a time. duh! takes a bit more time but works! nice. (for those who don't know) :)

Edit: it's a quick fix versus just clicking for 1 troop.

No good if you're on a Mac though. The main reason I use script clickies is to deploy 1 troop at a time.

If the above changes were implemented to the interface, I would at least consider using it. Especially if chatglove was integrated.

How so? I been using a Mac both at home and at work for about a decade and it's works just the same. Plus my Macbook works as well. Do you have an old unscrolling mouse or something? It totally works. Hit me up if you'd like to chat about it. :)

I too am thankful that chatglove is still working!

Do you use a regular mouse or a Mac one?

These would be ideal!

[*]Include assault odds w/ the new interface as the add-on script doesn't work at all w/ the advanced panels turned on in the settings pane.

I created a quick update for the Assault Odds script that allows it to work with the Panel System. Get it here: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/284027 (Make sure to uninstall your previous version.)

[*]Include "chatglove" into the UI even though Foxy is doing a fabulous job keeping up w/ it. :)

Thanks, and what a fantastic idea. ;)

I'm not sure if this is supposed to be happening or not, but I do hope this is in the works. If not, this should be submitted if possible.
