How about allowing a player (maybe cooks) being able to enter a (random) game and take over for the bot.
This might give a cook a better understanding of the game.
Of course this would be unbeknownst to the human who started the game.
Giving the bot a BRAIN!

I would guess many players do not play against the AI
This might spice it up a bit.
Of course the cyborg would not chat or know who he was playing against.

I don't think that this idea is technologically feasible, but it blew my mind.

Why not do the same but let anyone join as the bot--unbeknowst to the Human player? Call it Subversive Mode or something like that.
('Course, you'd need to set this as a different type of game from the regular bot games.)

Or it could be community-style games, where there's a pool of active games where anyone can take the opposing player's moves.

Having an arena of bots with human assistance, every now and again da bot takes charge (unbeknownst to the human controlling the bot), having different characteristics for each bot...chaotic game that would be, but a person might be able to manipulate his bot better than others. if you lose, you can always blame it on the bot.
Characteristics could include Bot behavior: Bot has a tipping point, bot get assaulted by another bot too often he is more likely going to assault said bot if he comes in contact with him (up to human to watch that stuff), and many other characteristics could be programed into the Bot
BOT WARS!

Like you said. not likely this will ever be implemented.
But it is good to think about. Might give rise to a different idea...that could be useful.
I think the bots you have now, should have a few 'different' characteristics.

No.. Presumably, as it would still be a bot game, there would be no points loss/gain. If so, this would be a player vs player game with no points, which is never going to happen.

This is more interesting.

Maybe you could pull a medal or an award though.
