[GO] Ninja Spoils/Espionage Spoils

As a fan of nuclear spoils, I think logically people will also like the exact opposite.

When you turn in a set of spoils, you take over the territories. I would like to see it where you inherit however many troops are already on the region. Or you could just take over the territory and be given an automatic two.

I like it, you could have like a 3 dropped on each terrie you cash.

Maybe call it Conquer cards.

pretty interesting idea ...

issues

there would be issues on maps like doodle since the maps are so small...For example if one person has R ,R , R , while player 2 has g, g , r than player one could wipe out player 2 before he could play their set...in other words the card become too much of a factor

it could also give a person an impenetrably bonus.I mean a bonus that blocked by a neutrals or several of the opponents armies. For example if player and B are fighting for N america
and player A has all ones but holds the majority of N america and player one with 10 on Us.If
player A has the Us Card than he could cash it in and pretty much get a free bonus with extra
armies to reinforce the bonus

But doesnt nucleur do the same exact thing? Not the bonus, but you know what i mean. I could see that it would in a 3 player game give the player that eliminated and got the cards a potential bonus, but that can happen on any map.

the big difference is nuke the tert are turned neutrals....even yours.
this is giving away pretty much tert for free.Since you get something no matter what
it really messe up the ballance of the game,All of the spoils has a + and a minus to them
For example you may not always get extra men on your tert with flat rate or escalating
and with Nukes wher I already explained that

Well with these if you have a territory with the card you own it also goes down/up to three. Would that be a little fairer? Or what if you own thaat territory it acts like a nucleur and like it cancels out cause u already own the territory and yet u fight for it so it turns neutral?

I mainly concern about taking over the opponents territory oppose to the bonus for your own

Well i think it would be a really cool way to come back when losing :)

Well you dont get something if you turn in territories you already own. Also, your opponents can take your territories just as easily as you can take theirs. I think that kind of balances out the fairness.

Another great idea for spoils! I think the OP should change the title of the thread to reflect what these spoils really are: "Reverse Nuclear" or something to that effect. "New Spoils" probably won't grab a lot of attention.

I'd play this as a game option right away!!!

I like it. Rather than linking it to Nuclear just call it Paratroop cards or something similar (airdrop, whatever u fancy) as this is what you're doing in effect, by wiping out the enemy in a surprise attack wherever they are and then replacing their forces with your own.

As a varation u could build on the existing colour schemes

RRR gives u 1 army per region (or 4)
GGG gives 2 per region (or 6)
BBB gives 3 per region (or 8)
RGB gives 4 per region (or 10)

As for the comment about being unbalanced on smaller maps, well, either limit it in some way (50 regions minimum) or put up with it - it's the same for everyone! Being lucky a few times will get balanced out in the long run by the opponent getting the draw first on others.

I like the idea of the color of your cards determining the number of troops you get on the territories you take over.

If you did that it would have to be a small variation of the number of troops you get per color trade in.

The advantage of these spoils work in two ways,

1. Hopefully taking the max of three territories away from your opponent.
2. Hopefully taking critical territories of your opponent where you infiltrate their bonuses causing them to back track.

If you took three of your opponents territories and received 10 troops per territory because it was a RGB trade in, that is way too big of a swing in the game.

If it was more neutral where two sets of colors give you plus two and the other two sets of colors give you plus four, that could work.

how about you get 1 placed on the territory you take over.Kind of like nuke makes the tert
1 neutral this would make it 1 your color.I think that it would help the balance of the game
from leaning to 1 side to quickly also it keeps with the general concept of the idea. This fixes
the chance of a player being able to hold an bonus with too much ease as well

def a interesting idea just needs bugs worked out......

If their troops become yours, then they should be called

Traitor Spoils

or maybe

Conscription Spoils

Blitzkrieg Spoils

I like this plan too. I made a thread called them "Blitzkrieg spoils" then found this one and cancelled mine. I'm undecided about how many to get. Singles would probably be good and or the flat rate spoils structure as an option.

I was going to post this idea too. As I become isolated to one side of the map by a dominate player, me and everyone else are stuck with fewer ways to attack the strongest player (ultimately attacking ourselves). All you really need is the territory to be destroyed and turned into either a 1 or 2 of your own territory. Then u can deploy your 3 units and do a little extra damage behind enemy lines.

I hope this option gets seriously considered.

i like ninja because to me i picture a person deceptively getting past enemy lines and taking control of their territory.

but of course i like to hear everyones opinion

Shock spoils

I also like the name ninja spoils, or plundering spoils, or shenanigans spoils

I think in order for it to truly work, all of the territories you take over will have to become a single troop (even including territories you already own).

Or do you guys prefer a type of flat rate trade in (although I think this may be too much of a game changer, especially if someone had the highest trade in and took three territories away from their opponent.)

I think making it like nuke where every territory you cash in be worth one even yours is the
best solutions.AS cool as the other suggestion are i have to agree that they would be too much
of a game changer

another solution is if you cash yours tert in it randomly goes to one of the other players. It def would add an interesting twist to the game though I do no know exactly it would work.

Definitely some interesting concepts---but nothing quite solidified. Those interested in this type of spoil feature (or some derivative thereof), I encourage you to rework the ideas and hammer out the details, following the Suggestion Form (located at the top of this forum). Who ever gets the ball rolling, kudos to you.

This is what I like

-Ninja Spoils (emphasises the stealth takeover of enemy territories)

-When your three spoils are turned in, those three territories become yours.
- This includes enemy territories, teammate territories, and your own territories.

-When turning in your spoils, an automatic one troop will be placed on the territory.
- If you already own the territory you are turning in and the troop level is higher than one,
it will still drop to one troop upon you turning in the spoils.

I feel this is the most balanced way of this type of spoils.

I think that when you turn in the cards you get the normal #of men deployed on that territory. 2 I believe it is, or you can have 3 men deployed on those territories. In this way your opponent (hopefully) can't just take it back his/her next turn.
