Exploration Fog - Game Mode

Postby Eddygp on Sun Jun 22, 2014 5:26 am

Concise description:
  • Yet another game mode, many will say, but bear in mind that this is only a proposal. The FoW (fog of war) allows you to see only the adjacent territories. With this DIFFERENT mode (this does not aim to change FoW) you will be able to see more territories depending on the troops that you have in one of your regions.

Specifics/Details:
  • Basically, assuming that any adjacent region is 1 region away, therefore the regions that are adjacent with that first one are 2 regions away and so on:
  • If you hold a region for X rounds with a minimum of X troops in that region during the whole length of those rounds, you will be able to see up to X regions away. X is the minimum one of either rounds that you held the region or troops.
  • Example: If you hold a region that always has 3 troops in it, the first round you will only see adjacent regions, the second one you will be able to see those that are two regions away, the third one you will see three regions away but the fourth one you will keep on seeing only three regions away because you only have 3 troops.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • This might be a particularly interesting setting for large maps, such as The Hive, where the players can change strategy creating exploration regions in order to get more information about the enemy regions.

I'm not sure if I wrote that this will not affect the current FoW style, it is a proposal for a new setting.
