MAKE SOME FIXES TO HOW MOST IMPROVED/POWERSCORE WORKS

So many people are currently getting banned for manipulating the scoreboard to win premium prizes. I think there is a fix for this, but I am not sure how practical this would be to implement.

Player X decides to drop 500 points at the end of a month with the intention of making a play for most improved the following month. What if the site could recognise dramatic drops in score based on a players previous performance over x number of months? Those people could then be given a static 0 powerscore for 2-3 months onto their account, meaning that they are disqualified from the scoreboard for that time. It would certainly deter people if there's no reward in doing so.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

• Fairer scoreboard
• Less bannings for manipulation of the scoreboard since there would be no incentive to do so. In fact they'd be punished automatically
• No people leeching points from point dumpers

Could this affect a legit player mucking around on speed games? Sure, but I don't think that should be basis for argument against having a negative effect to a player's performance. Those instances are rare under legitimate circumstances.
I feel that if you are going to be rewarded for achieving a huge winning run, you should also have consequences for dropping a large number of points within a certain space of time.

I think if this were done, it shouldn't be a set number like 500, it should be some percentage of the player score. I mean, josko.ri dropped about 2000 points and they said that was ok.

Aside of that, how long do players have to drop? I mean, can they drop the score in a week and it's ok? Two weeks? We'd need to decide how quickly it was ok for people. Also, does it matter what time of the month that it happens? What kind of parameters?

Doesn't matter, any crazy point drop from the previous month's recorded score is more than often not legit.

Let's not bring Josko into this since well he doesn't give a hoot about prize scoreboards anyway except for personal highs (he admitted that he didn't deserve to get most improved or whatever it was and didn't avail of that opportunity). Enough said on conquerers and high scores since this is a different matter. They would be affected too if there was a way to do this.

Not every dramatic point drop deserves punishment in the form of infractions, jeez, but I don't think someone should benefit from it. It's not going to deter people from trying for high scores, but it would prevent them taking a 25 dollar prize that they don't deserve. Are they really going to drop a shit ton of points and then sit out of the game at cook rank or whatever for x amount of time for their "powerscore freeze" to pass before playing again? Chances are, they are going to get picked up for cheating anyway by C&A if they do chance something as stupid.

I am just coming here with a raw idea, hoping that discussion can help refine it based on what is possible.

I don't think this could be implemented with so lany variables, although I support the general purpose of the suggestion. I did wonder though, surely people will get the message soon enough considering the amount of banned users? Maybe that's too hopeful.
