So far:

You have too many countries.
The continents have too many borders.
The background image distracts too much.

You should:
1. Merge some of the countries together.
2. Alter the continents if still necessary after doing 1.
3. Change the background, so it doesn't stick out.

Oh and "right arm" sounds bad to me.

As for the idea: sure a map of France is a good idea... provided you're willing to put the effort in.

The idea is fine, but do you want to make the effort?
I am making a map but will later ask for someone to make it ready for use.

yes, that is why i made it, i figured since stealing maps is a bad idea i should start making my own and putting lots of effort in them for landgrab to have good maps and i figured why not ill see about putting it on conquer club too.

i know next to nothing about French geography, but i think the names of the "continents" would be better if they were more than just "east" and "west" stuff

France Provincial Regions

Is what I found. Easily combined them into one, using the largest or most densely populated as the main name for the collection to make a continent.

Also...

Geography of France

How about S.E. France changes to Region of the Alps or the alps

SW France changes to Region of the Pyranees or the Pyranees

Purple which i forgot to put on the continentlist becomes alsace and lorraine

Right Arm becomes Bretagne

N. France becomes Picardie

W. Central becomes Centre(actual region in there)

E. Central becomes bourgegone

I think theres some definite improvement, but still a ways to go. In my eyes it feels too crowded and cramped. I think dropping the count might not be a bad idea. Also, no offense, but methinks "Who Cares" ,as hilariously awesome as it is, may not be the best name for a country....

The fact that you have already begun editing it and posted a new version within 5 hours of the first shows that you are willing to make this map work. :D

haha, who cares was originally there because the map i was basing it off of didnt have a name for that particular state, then i merged it with another country and decided to keep the who cares....

what does dropping the count mean?

I think he might mean dropping the number of countries. Not sure though. Anyway if that's not what he means, I'm suggesting it now. You still have 54ish? countries, the average risk board has around 42.

There is a definite improvement however.

Seems like a promising map. Ditch the background though, it's nasty & too cheesey!

I would make them "The Alps", "The Pyrenees" (note the spelling), "Alsace-Lorraine", "Brittany", "Picardy", "Centre" and "Burgundy" (not "Bourgogne", which would be the correct Fr spelling if you choose to keep it in French), as these are the standard Anglicized names for these areas.

Also, I'd change The Pyrenees to Languedoc. Makes more sense as a name for the whole region, as the Pyrenees are only at the very bottom, halfway in Spain.

Who really wants to fight for control of the subway system? ;-) Kidding of course. I think France, and many other countries can turned into fun and playable maps. We'll have to see how it comes along.
