I think there's something wrong with the China map because right now I'm playing on it, and before anyone even started their first turn, the amount of neutral armies in Shandong is 2.

i also have to say that the mountains actually look like bird droppings, or some sort or drugs/spices.
i have no idea how they are meant to be mountains

That is the way the map starts. Check the XML

Love the map wisse :)

the map is good. but this really should be corrected somehow if possible.... i'm glad i noticed before i deployed all my armies on the wrong one.

I agree. why weren't those two changed during creation of the map? no one notice?

Hello-
Does the arrow from Gansu to Nei Mongol (across the Great Wall) mean that it's a one-way attack?

Hi guys, long time no see :)
I was just checking the site since two years or so, and find a lot of rants about shanxi and shaanxi being to similar on the map.
So I thought just a small edit could fix this problem. So I did change Shanxi to Shanxi (Beijing) and Shaanxi to Shaanxi (Lanzhou).
As I previously said I haven't been here for so long, so I don't know if there was already something else changed in the xml (I used the xml from my first post) so correct me if I used the wrong xml.
If this wasn't needed please tell me :) If you think there are other things left undone you can also tell me and I see if I can fix them. I have everything on my computer (not sure about the fonts though).
Here is the new xml:
http://dc139.2shared.com/download/9491973/49d4c104/ChinaV12.xml?tsid=20091127-115645-e228b8bf
If that link doesn't work:

Edit: fine seems like no-one cares anymore, you can always mail me at wisse6@hotmail.com

This may be a stale subject, but I thought Irkutsk and Sinkiang bordered, almost cost me a game:)

That's the Asia map you are talking about, that I can't seen to find a thread for...
and yes, they do look like they touch.

There is no thread for the Asia / Far East map, as it is one of the original CC maps (that existed before the Foundry)

I just got shafted by this map. I'm in Henan and I wanted to attack Shanxi. I did NOT want to attack Shaanxi (two a's instead of one) because that would give the nine guys in Sichuan an access path to my forces (it had been occupied by one pink dude). I did not pay close enough attention - my bad but quite understandable I think - and attacked the wrong place. These two names - accessable from the same tert (which I happened to be attacking from) are way too similar. Please CHANGE ONE OF THESE NAMES.

Not going to happen probably. Just chalk it up to human error and move on.

Also, why are you not using clickable maps? No chance of mistake with those.

Hi guys, I am visiting this site after a few years and I see my map is still popular :D

I am just wondering, are there things that need to be changed. I am sure I have the original files somewhere (I hope), aside from the obvious shanxi/shaanxi problem (which hopefully has been fixed already, like I proposed years ago, I even gave an update for XML).
