I hope everyone in the foundry is glad they rushed this map to be completed so it can be played in this state :roll:

Another problem someone pointed out in my game: There is no connection from Korea to Irkutsk but you can't tell that by looking at the map. The border is ambiguous.

Thanks though Zim for all your work in fixing these problems and trying to get the map working properly!!

This is also really confusing because on the map, there is an obvious line going from brunei to sumantra.

that's what i thought i first too, but theres a little white line right on the edge of the number placement that's the border for brunei/central indonesia, and the line from sumatra goes just to the south of it. it blends in with the circle so much it's hard to see unless you know its there.

as i posted earlier
if you use this guys tester
http://www.multiblah.com/cc_tester/
it makes connections very obvious
Map XML File:http://www.conquerclub.com/maps/World_2_0.xml
Map Large Image file:http://www.conquerclub.com/maps/World_2_0.L.jpg
it will let you know where you can attack to or from to clear up "ambiguous" borders or see any bugs.

and guys, with a map this size, things may be a little confusing, but we're big kids...
if it doesn't work, you can't attack there, unless its extremely obvious, i.e. Norwegian Claim and Australian Claim. Otherwise go with the flow, every little quirk isn't a bug

Im not sure if this has been posted yet, but it seems like Norway can attack Muskova, but not vice versa.

that tester is pretty good. but every little mistake should be fixed eventually, just because its not big enough issue to be called a "bug" doesnt mean we shouldnt mention it and it doesnt mean that it shouldnt be fixed.

Greece and Italy are not intended to connect though they are very close together particularly in the small version. Sorry for the confusion.

I am unable to fortify armies from either the British Claim or the Norwegian Claim to the Australian claim. Is this fixed? And if it is, when will I be able to do this in my game?

Not sure if it just me, but when ever I attack and between attacks or placing armies the map goes black with just the numbers visible.
Hit the attack button or just refresh the screen and all is okay.

Mepps,

You should be able to go from British to Norwegian OR Norwegian to Australian in an Adjacent Fortification game but not to Australian. In Chained or Unlimited as long as you own all three you should be able to fortify from any of the three to any of them.

For the technically inclined here's the relevant XML:

<country>
<name>British Claim</name>
<borders>
<border>Chilean Claim</border>
<border>Norwegian Claim</border>
<border>Tierra del Fuego</border>
</borders>
<coordinates>
<smallx>288</smallx>
<smally>486</smally>
<largex>372</largex>
<largey>619</largey>
</coordinates>
</country>

<country>
<name>Norwegian Claim</name>
<borders>
<border>British Claim</border>
<border>Australian Claim</border>
<border>South Africa</border>
</borders>
<coordinates>
<smallx>412</smallx>
<smally>479</smally>
<largex>532</largex>
<largey>610</largey>
</coordinates>
</country>

<country>
<name>Australian Claim</name>
<borders>
<border>Norwegian Claim</border>
<border>Chilean Claim</border>
<border>Western Australia</border>
</borders>
<coordinates>
<smallx>523</smallx>
<smally>479</smally>
<largex>674</largex>
<largey>609</largey>
</coordinates>
</country>

If this doesn't work for you please post the game number.

Cheers,

Zim

I LOVE the map...fine job my friend!

Not sure if this has been addressed but the only issues I have run into are:

Amazon to Equador
Brunei to Sumatra

Are these oversights and have they / will they be fixed? Thanks so much!!

Koolbak,

Glad you're enjoying the map.

Amazonas and Ecuador do not connect, the border is subtle but Ecuador is surrounded by Peru and Columbia.

Same is true for Brunei, it's surrounded by Central Indonesia and only borders it. The grey line for the sea lane connects to Central Indonesia, south of Brunei.

I've made a note of both of them. I'm making a list for the 2.1 update and I'll aim to make both of these clearer then.

Cheers,

Agreed. The border between Korea and China is almost the exact same color as the ocean. So to me it looks like there are two bridges: one to China and one to Irkutsk with a tiny sliver of sea in between. I can see it is a border now but only until I read sully's post. Maybe it's an optical illusion? :P

Also Venezuela is spelled wrong.

Overall though great map! Image It's a bit overwhelming at first but it's pretty sick. Thanks for taking the time to make it.

I thought Brunei linked with phillipines, is that right or wrong?

You should make a thread for improvements for 2.1. To add to ur list:
Sorong is a city, the territory should really be called Irian Jaya

Phillipines should be connected to another territory of the East Indies.

The border between Chile and peru is a bit ambiguous, im not sure whether they border (not that it matters in my game)

A border between Chile and NZ would make things interesting because in the game I am playing atm, South America and Oceania are the only two continents that have been taken, and there is massive troop build up in Mexico and Hawaii.

CC_Tester and World 2.0 map

Postby horizon on Thu Dec 07, 2006 2:50 pm

f you use this guys tester

it makes connections very obvious

When I use the tester, it cuts off the right edge of this particular map. Does anyone else have that problem?
