That shift of the Canadian border looks much better IMO- no need for any kind of barrier like a lake now.
I think the connection from Cuba to Florida is unclear because of the army shadow though. It's like the Albania-Italy connection in the Europe map- you can see it but just barely because the army shadow covers it up, and people will no doubtedly say there is no connection. Perhaps moving the shadow to the right....or better yet, moving the border to the left would solve that problem.
I just noticed a problem in the Sudan Somalia region- I don't believe they are meant to connect but there is a double border (light and dark gray) around the outside of Ethiopia, which makes it look like there should be a strip of land between those borders. I'm assuming you meant to have the two borders coincide and only the dark gray sub continent border visible.
