Ball 3 - Left Center
Ball 4 - RIght Center
Ball 5 - 3rd Base Line
Ball 6 - Line Drive
Ball 7 - Right Infield
Ball 8 - 1st Base Line
Ball 9 - Pop Up

Why not use single, double, etc? It gets the idea across that the balls are supposed to represent hits that can get you on base. I realize that carl was concerned about this, and Evil D it seems meant the balls to represent potential outs or hits, but really 'stealing a hit' from a player is what good defense does and what poor defense fails at. So why not just call them hits and if defenders assault them, well, they just caught a potential 'signle', etc.
Btw, in that vein, Ball 9 I think was meant as a bunt single down the third base side, not a pop-up. However, calling it either a pop-up or bunt is prejudicial to making all of the other balls 'hits' or 'outs'. So I say go whole-hog or nothing at all. Personally I prefer making them hits, as it puts more pizazz into the map without really taking anything away.
