Regarding the XML, is it the neutral start you are speaking of?

Also, I gave it some thought...and I think this map would maybe benefit from a more stylized graphic for mountains. The current ones really just don't look like they go with the map (And the wall is close also). I'd consider something like Fight for Alexander's Empire, or Australia, maybe Middle-Earth. Something stylized and not abstract. The abstract mountain I think hinders the look of the map a little, since you've got this specific feel on the gameboard...hm.

I thought you were going to get rid of a territory? Or, add one. You still have 29, so I'm confused

no read what i said, i need a xml feature "Starting Neutral Territories shuffle"
(Starting Neutral Territories is already been accepted but mine isn't looked at)
so that 1 country of jinan is neutral at the start so you have 28 normal and 1 neutral in jinan

Andy:
yes that was the xml issue i ment ;) and i will look to the mountains again

it appears it's not yet implemented, or the xml tester is not updated.

or something
to be honest they look like a long piece of poo. th other ones weren't better but at least they did not give this impression. why don't you try drawing them?

just make some simple empty triangles. 5 shapes is enough. then add some slope lines of the same colour inside the triangle. after that fill the blank inside with some wobbly hatched texture. brownish or greenish. at the top ad some pixels of grey and white to resemble the snow. now you have 5 different small mountains. just take them and put them on them map to form a long mountain chain. don't worry if some of them intersect it makes the chain look better. now it's time for some effects. add shades and bevel if you need and any other effect that might suit you and you've got yourself a nice mountain border.

right now you're just drawing a line and adding texture and bevel to it.

hope it helps.

mibi is a proffesional graphic designer and i think that says all.
he's probably been doing it for several years at a professional level.

by comparisson we are mere beginners. for example before i came here i never used anything other than ms paint.

also he probably has other means of developing his maps. like a drawing tablet. boy i could really use one of those. it makes the job a whole lot easier.

lucky you. i recommend testing that tablet eight away. you'll see drawing becomes a lot easier with a stylus than with the mouse.

don't tell me you can draw better with your mouse than with a stylus on a tablet.
