For the Western Isles region we are now using the color lifted from Strathclyde in earlier versions, right up to the same glow color. The glow is thinner in the Isles than other territories because otherwise they are so thin you get more dark than light.
Balsie: if you are still interested in doing the XML I can help you get started. Once you have the basic file with territories, bonuses, and attack routes, I'd be happy to drop in the army coordinates as it is the hardest part and I've done it a few times now.

To me it works as is; one of the two territories in question is in a northern bonus, one in a southern bonus. If somebody controls both territories and everything behind it - either north or south - the game is pretty much over anyway... plus you'd have to hold Mull as well to collect the three southern bonuses. But if people think it's a problem we can fix it; I'd rather go back to extending Kinross south to make a third border between North and South than adding sea routes. Sea routes seem random to me, unless they are connecting islands.
