Can we have a poll for the style of the mushroom clouds?

Everything else looks very awesome, very cool map

I think they might be set now... anyway these ones fit in with the look of the map.

Not ready yet. Close. Alaska isn't counting for the USA (I assume) which is confusing even with the stars, which I don't feel distinguish it enough, maybe more stars or bigger stars are needed, and other problems were pointed out I'd like to see fixed first. (Korea and army number nudged down slightly for one)

• Stars are slightly larger and closer together.
• Fussed with the Korea border a bit - I could of course fuss more but it's starting to not look like Korea anymore.
• Tweaked the coordinates in the XML.

Maybe, instead of USA Only - you put Cont. USA ? Would that alleviate the Alaska confusion? Or just add to it?

Cont. = Continental (or Contiguous). Most people know that this excludes Alaska, Hawaii, and any US Territories.

At this point in time that was all of the United States, there really wasn't any states outside of the contiguous in my opinion that'd be a downgrade.

If you're too stupid to not understand the star thing, you deserve to lose.

why don't you just put Korea's border back to where it should be and put the label into the water?

Just a little thing I've only just thought of.... the east has 4 clouds on it where as the west only has 3.... maybe put one on the UK or somewhere else in the west to even things up a bit...

I had four clouds to begin, but the concern all along is that north america will be too hard to hold, and so I dropped the quebec cloud. In an east-west two player show down, hitting any one cloud will wipe out all of the west's bonus, while the eat player has multiple smaller bonuses. Dropping a cloud leaves one fewer territory to defend, which I feel actually evens up the game.

Plus the Siberia cloud is already a border - it will be defended whether or not it is a nuclear target.

More little stuff:
• Korea name has been moved up into the sea and the border redrawn to look like Korea again.
• I tweaked a couple of titles and army counts based on how it all looks with three digit numbers. Eastern USA, for example.

And if anybody cares...

well done oaktown - everything that's been raised's been addressed, reakon there'll only be the nitpicking and touch ups to come as this moves into the final forge ...

(Just on the lyrics in the tune - the "And it's unlikely that we're going to disarm" line doesn't really fit smoothly with the rhyme (though the line is good in itself), what about something like "Without the chance that we'd disarm".)

I think that the army numbers for the UK should be on top of the islands, not next to them. I just think that'd be more aesthetically pleasing, in my opinion. But you can make the final call on that.

the only change to the map/graphics that has been suggested lately has been to move an army count... I didn't figure that was worth a new post.

I'm guessing people are content with the game play. I'm still a bit nervous about the potential power of the bombardments, but I guess it accurately reflects the theme of the map - living in fear of nuclear war. If you're holding the US an attack can come at any moment!

That's a secret link - all maps have a link between UK & Scandinavia - it's a foundry rule that... the second half of the rule is that you don't have to show it!!!
