I can make it thinner, but would that make it more obvious?

Ok so I basically just copied the rest over from the draft but I wanted to get it all on there first.

I still need to make it look interesting and give it a little drama and such.

I also changed 'alignment' to 'loyalty', perhaps its more clear, although loyal is one of those words tat sounds weird if you say it over and over again.

I think this gameplay is genius - there must be so many different variations that a clear tactic isn't obvious...

thanks, i am a little worried about baghdad tho, being so large and having so many borders it would be impossible to hold and thereby a non, factor. I had the bonus at +10 and increasing it would certainly make it more attractive, but still, it would be near impossible to hold with 8 borders. Maybe it should split it into sunni/shia/kurd, ... i dunno.

I see your point - also you have no "loyalty" for Baghdad? Is that intentional?

Recommended Rewrite

*Cities can attack to any corresponding loyalty square.
*Cities can attack from the province they are in or via the roads.
*Mahdi and al-Qeda aligned cities can attack out from their loyalty squares.
*The city AND corresponding loyalty square must be held to receive a city bonus.
*The river is uncrossable except at the bridge. (I only see one bridge and one river and along border doesn't seem necessary.)

Changes:

1. Bagdad now has seperate bonus areas, plus a bonus forthe whole city. This should provide more incentive to mix it up in there.

2. Changes some labels as per yeti

3. Changed some text as per coleman...

oh yeah, this one IS getting complicated

Where can provinces attack? They can attack cities inside themselves right?

yes, I havent gotten to the graphics of it yet, its rather boring and plain at the moment. as for Anbar,

If you hold the Anbar province, the grey circle you can attack:

1. any city in anbar, there are 5 of them.
2. any province bordering anbar, salahaddan, ninawa, babil, karbala and najaf.
3. you can also attack into baghdad via mansour

the brittish are not represented here.

The bridge is gone.

It still says The river are and bridges. Which is twice as ironic now that there isn't even 1 bridge.

Ok several Qs:

1. Where is this river???

2. What do you meen by: "Cities can attack to any corresponging loyalty square."????

3. Can you have a little more simpathy for us colour blind people pleeeeaase... the red and green in Bagdad I can only just see the difference, and I'm sure there are plenty who wont be able to see it at all!!! See http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... 900#866900 page 8 for some complants about this on other maps.

Looking good Mibi - like the new split Baghdad...

2 points

1) Dyala typo still in there...
2) Colemans XML confusion is caused by having "Green Zone" in Baghdad -> and a green continent... change the green continent (Sunnis) into a different colour...

The river is in Baghdad.

Each city has 4 loyalty squares in the upper right. They can attack them.

Me likes. And some people might actually learn something about Iraq. Although they'll need to go back to World 2.1 to locate the country.

So, if I hold 4 cities and have loyalties for Baathist and Mahdi Army in all 4, I would get +8 for the Mahdi, +4 for Baathist and -4 for holding two loyalties (-1 for each 2 city where I hold 2 loyalties?) for a total of +8

I have to say the map is not as complicated as it looks.

could you move the Babil label to the right slightly just so the road connecting to Karbala is more evident. I realize it doesn't block the line connecting to the circle exactly, but I think its presence could be confusing. (It might not be possible because of the glow though?)

So just to be sure, the loyalty squares themselves cannot attack out to their corresponding city? (except for al-Qaeda where they can attack Sunni cities but NOT the loyalties right? just the actual city (again just to be sure. I think it is pretty clear)).
