Auto Attack (Autoed)

Im still at a loss about the term auto attacked, are we talking about the button on a game or something else.. I use the button all the time to save time if attacking.. is this wrong?

I very rarely use Auto-Attack.

If I'm going for a card, I don't want to waste possible 5 or 6 troops to take one country.

If I'm eliminating a player, I want to be able to stop after I've lost too many troops to finish that player off.

The only times I use Auto-Attack are in Speed games when I'm eliminating a player or in a 1v1/two-team game.
