Simply i expressed my personal opinion. My opinion isn't a rule :lol:
I absolutely don't think that this map is a bad map. And i absolutely don't think mapmakers have 19 pages and 280 posts without a reason.
But i'm still thinking that ,with a so good thematic ,a.sub and lzrman have not to develope a good map, but a wonderful one!
I think that with a small work to put all things in order ( and probably in a bank heist following a precise order is the most important thing ), this map could be stickied.

alright here is what i am putting on my list of things to change (lzrman should be here to add/ subtract)
~used dashed lines
~i am willing to correct any attack line people have questions/complaints about about :)
~as for the bonus i think im going to talk with lzrman over this one, i like having alarms be auto deploy and guns be add to reinforcements how ever i like the complicity of "alarms = -1 and guns = +1." my stubborn defense of the latter would be that, now the guns are an actual requirement to win, because you have to get enough so that the ever prevailing alarms dont wipe out your troop count.

and yes, discussion and criticism is great in the foundry. I've been posting here [edit: this thread...] for long enough that i felt like criticizing the criticism (discussing) before the map makers read it. thanks for understanding.

the only issue i would have with the dashed lines are if they look unnatural or take away from the beauty of this map...on the sample the one separating doesn't look appealing to me it would look more appealing if you forked the route somewhere in the line

What territories start as nutural? Is there a bonus or auto deploy for the getaway car?

guns, alarms, carts, and the entrances to the vault are all start as neutrals
so far its an autodeploy but im up for much discussion :)

i totally agree on the advanced draft part...look at the nineteen pages...that's more than some maps in the foundry proper have :o

If you want i can do all the dashed lines in few minutes ;)
I need only to know color and trasparency values...
then i can send you the jpg file on a trasparent background and you have simply to add it like a new level.

Let me know about... :)

OK, you can use this method to do these dashed lines in few time....

Make all your routes invisible and save your map as a .jpg
Download GIMP
Open the jpg file you saved as layer.
Open a new layer with trasparent background.
Now use the path tool to do the dashed lines on the new layer using the stroke path command and chosing the more appropriate option.
Now simply you can save the layer as jpg and apply it on your psd file.

The dotted lines look good now, really clear paths. It should be stickyfied!!!

I was wondering, there is a side room territory that has no name, is it on purpose? You asked a while back for names and such, I put mine down, but didn't get on the map... I was just wondering! It is fine if it's not on it though, I won't held any grudge against you ...
even if you said that I could have it there and bla bla bla, bla bla bla... lol if you read this, I hope you'll have a good laugh!

Keep up the good work, I am looking forward playing the beta!

Just a few comments about graphics...
  • The top left hand corner is very dark, it makes it very hard to read the instructions for the map. Lightening that area would be a good idea.
  • I'm not a big fan of the font used for the names on the map, perhaps you could experiment with a few different fonts and show us what it would look like.
  • Why is the title half cut-off, i think it would look much better without the ripped edge look, i don't think it adds anything to the map.
  • On the instructions postet, the word "will" is overlapping on the curl of the postet, looks kind of strange.
  • I also think you could produce a better car than the one currently on the map.

This map is coming along well :)

The attack lines has to be fixed but is a graphic work that could be done in future :)

I suggest you to erase the door white lines on the background...the map could be more clear.

My best concerns is about names:
trying a different font? (only a test if you can :) )
There's a lot of white in this map (walls, names, army circles, attack routes ). If you look when attack routes pass near walls or names is a bit difficult distinguish them.

Anyway a good update...the main foundry isn't so far ;)

To Do List
  • lighten up instructions
  • post a few diff fonts to get public opinion
  • fix the word "will" on instructions
  • make a car that doesnt look like crap :lol:
  • find a way to distinguish attack routes and the walls

Ask Public List
  • Cut off title? (yes or no)
  • remove blue print doors (yes or no)
  • suggs for a diff font (an example would be stellar)

Just a Note
the version you commented on Sam was an older version, if you look above i posted one with a different type of attack route, what do you thin of that? (reposted below for convenience)

It is actually called "Side Room" not that there is a missing territory name, sorry my bad, I didn't explain it well enough... sorry for the confusion.

But if you want to put my name on it??? (did you get the white colored pun in the bottom of that earlier post...???)

And as an Idea for the car, look this one up... maybe you could just take the shape of it and reverse the picture to make go the way the other one already does...
