Aalmeida17 [Cleared]

Accused:

Aalmeida17

The accused are suspected(guilty with confession) of:

Other: <Explanation> Holding other players hostage. According to the Unwritten rules this isn't allowed. I wouldn't have known what they had in mind if they didn't say anything, but displaying their intent just seems like someone needs to be taught a lesson.

Game number(s):

Game 5268732

Comments:I don't really see why anyone would confess this, or even do it. They're most likely going to lose the points either way, I guess just to make a freemium suffer, pretty sick and twisted.

Evidence:

show: Hostage negotiations

show: Confession and then some

He is purposely not taking his turn when he clearly has the chance, and said that he won't until the last minute, forcing the game to take longer than it should.

Yea I know, foe and rate is probably coming my way for this. But it's the fact that they admitted they were doing it on purpose just to prolong the game.

Ah. Well, it all depends I guess. Personally, if finding myself in a situation where I'm bound to loose in a 1v.1 game, I may in certain instances chose to take one turn a day in that game. Not out of spite though, but simply due to the fact that (i) no one is in any rush (and if you are, buy premium) and (ii) people eventually may miss turns. This doesn’t apply for dedicated players of course, but it's actually not too uncommon that opponents (especially freemiums) starts missing a turn here and there allowing for a comeback. All in all, it may make perfectly good sense to prolong the game by taking one turn a day and it’s nothing to get upset about. If you want a quick game, play speed game or agree on a r/t game.

That's not the problem in this case though, but I know well enough that people can miss turns due to personal reasons and I myself don't exactly care for fighting in a lost cause.

They were clearly on and had the chance to take their turn but said they won't because I failed to let him break my bonus and throw the game. If I were really worried about not playing enough games, and had a credit card, I would have premium at the moment, but it's more about this guy admitting why he is going to wait until the last second. It's just to be an ass. :?

No. What I mean is, by moving slowly, i.e. one turn a day, there's a chance that YOU may miss a turn or two, allowing for an otherwise impossible comeback. That makes sense.

As an example, see: Game 5233534. This guy started with a bonus, my dice was shit and the game was, for all practical purposes, over. Due to that, I've purposely played one turn per day, as close as possible to the end of my turn. Now, he just missed a turn basically allowing for me to get the upper hand. I've been on many times seeing the game being open but have chosen not to play. And it paid off. As I said, it does happen often enough for it to be a viable last-chance strategy.

Besides, on a general level, there’s no obligation to make a move just because one is online. One can just not feel like taking a turn in a particular game and that’s a good enough reason for not taking it.

Obviously any gross abuse of the game is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to: throwing games or deliberately benefiting from thrown games, intentional deadbeating, holding players hostage, serial teammate killing, hijacking accounts, systematically "farming" new recruits.

YOU HAVE CLEAR PROOF OF HIM HOLDING YOU HOSTAGE...AND IF CC DON'T DO NOTHING ABOUT IT ,THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG

I don't get it... looking at this game, a 1v1 on the Doodle map
It's Round 1 ffs and Aalmeida17 still has 11 hours to move.

Aalmeida has played 3000+ games taking 99% of his turns
and you're worried about being held hostage?

2009-07-16 18:04:51 - Aalmeida17: lol
2009-07-16 18:05:04 - Aalmeida17: hope u have some fair play
2009-07-16 18:05:20 - Aalmeida17: or this game just end on next wek
2009-07-16 18:06:05 - Strife: gl
2009-07-16 18:08:58 - Strife: hm, just noticed I started with a bonus :]
yeah... he may have been around and could have taken his first turn,
but it's still early to be jumping to conclusions.

Taking one turn per day can never constituting holding someone hostage unless you prolong the game by refusing to kill off your opponent. Taking one turn per day:
- as a defensive move hoping for the other guy to eventually miss a turn;
- for not being inspired to play the game in question; or
- just out of spite
is not holding someone hostage.

This is why there's a premium option. Just pay for it and it's not a problem. This specific freemium problem (i.e. that games lasts several days or weeks) is not something that CC in any way can apply sanctions to solve/ease.

The kid is a waste of space, was on my foe list, begged and cried. I took him off, then he went straight back to using cheap tactics.

You have pretty course language for being 11 years old. But not to be off topic how about the mods create a system of mod approval before allowing a cheat & abuse complaint posting. It would cut down on a lot of I'm "mad" complaints.
