Renegades and the.killing.44 freestyle timing abuse [Warned]

Accused:

Renegades
the.killing.44

The accused are suspected of:

Other: Freestyle rules abuse

Game number(s):

Game 5244315
Game 5244318
Game 5244312

Comments: As can be seen in the game logs of each of these games (I am sure there are many more). The tactic that these players use is to wait until a freestyle round is almost over, then they begin their turn. They finish making all the moves they want to then, since it is unlimited reinforcement, they do not press the "end reinforcement" button. The time runs out and enables them to make a second move in a row.

Personally I find this tactic a clear breach of the rules of freestyle, since the rules are made in such a way as to try to prevent this from happening.

This kind of abuse will also discourage the casual player from playing these types of game.

Unfortunately, If this is deemed 'legal' by conquerclub's rulings, I will have to adopt this strategy, and encourage all of my friends to do the same. I truly do not want to do this but if this is what I have to do to even the field.... :(

here is a snipet of the logs (note the times the turn ends and starts)
2009-07-13 19:33:39 - the.killing.44 ran out of time
2009-07-13 19:33:39 - Renegades ran out of time
2009-07-13 19:33:39 - Incrementing game to round 2
2009-07-13 19:33:39 - the.killing.44 received 3 troops for 6 regions
2009-07-13 19:33:41 - Renegades received 2 troops for holding Purple Diamonds

It is seen as cheap by many people, but a lot of people play freestyle like this, and it isn't against the rules at all; it's just something you have to get used to. It's one of the reasons I don't play many freestyle games

Hm, I had actually just accepted it as a method people use to be cheap bastards. Now that you mention it, it does circumvent a system put in place precisely to avoid such behavior.

Freestyle is coded to make sure whoever ends last does not go first the next round. Utilizing this strategy is merely a loop-hole pertaining to freestyle play the way CC designed it. Especially in 'No Cards', there is absolutely no reason to not use this exploit, as you get to see your opponents entire move, sort your shit out based on whatever they did, and immediately move again.

While it's not 'written into the rules', it is written into the code of freestyle that whoever ends last does not get to start their next turn first.

Good way of putting it. So, OP, foe them and rate them accordingly is the most likely outcome of this case.

I/we (as ren quit CC yesterday so I'm playing—or getting others to play—for him) broke no rules — you might see it as cheap but sorry foe us and move on ;) Tupence said it well.

When in rome as they say....

It really isnt cheating in any way... It simply is freestyle, and what it has become... to suggest that someone should play their move earlier in the turn is ridiculous, because naturally it will end up back at the end of the turn anyways, in order to win...

its just how it is, and it makes for a damn good game when all teams are on board... for those who cant keep up...

lose

Oh and by the way Charles, proving the point how this can be deterred, I'll be waiting for you when you attempt to double turn as your post implies ;)

I do think that a lot of the FS casual games would move along much quicker if the double turns where stopped, for speed games it would probably make some difference but not much I guess.

Very true unfortunately. Anyone that has issues with this tactic should pop over to suggs & buggs and post in the thread that wants to outlaw it. Clicky here!

killing.44, you just admitted to being a multi- "... ren quit CC yesterday so I'm playing ... for him" Huh?
HELLO MULTI HUNTERS ... SLAM DUNK HERE.
You should be busted for this alone, although I doubt you will be.

I'm suprised and dismayed to find you engaging in these "cheap" tactics.
I would have thought you had more integrity, but it appears not. Shame on you.

Instead of inspiring CC players to try new and different game styles, your "tactics" are putting them off, as evidenced here.

Having played against you in the past and no doubt rating you highly, I'll be removing the rating I left for you, in addition to foeing you and moving on. I encourage all reading this to do the same.

If you don't get busted for admitting to being a multi, perhaps the CC management should at least reconsider you for the foundry post you occupy.
Unless, of course they feel "ass"istant is an entirely appropriate title for you.

They WERE two different people. He said ren quit so now they're NOT.
The two "accounts" are currently in 4 games together:

5244318
5244317
5244315
5244312

How does the.killing.44 babysit those? Renegades only has 5 active games remaining, which gives killing.44 at least an 80% chance to be a MULTI now.

Thanks for the flame. You can foe me all you like — to everyone here who (ok cant say it, flame) — Renegades is WARSTEINER, the ex-conqueror. He quit CC, made me change his password so he couldn't log back in, and I'm now finishing his games / finding others to help me finish his games. I am most definitely NOT his multi.

I get friends to play them or if necessary get them myself?

Where is there any logic in that?!

Other facts;
- Before yesterday Renegades' flag was the Netherlands. As is Warsteiner's.
- Renegades is a Colonel … hell I wish I could get there on MY account.

I'm quite sure the Multi Hunters know who Renegades is.

sheesh,

the.killing.44 and renegades have been Warned for babysitting abuse stemming from taking turns for one another in a team game when the turn was not in jeopardy. However, do to the current way that the games are coded and the current community guidelines, they are not being warned for the "double turn" abuse sited in this thread.
