Woodruff [Cleared]

Accused: Woodruff

Woodruff

The accused are suspected of:

Other: abusing my wall

Game number(s):
N/A

Comments: Woodruff and I were engaged in a spirited discussion in the General Discussion forum in which we had two different opinions. He expressed anger at my opinion and demanded I stop participating in the forum. He then took it "offline" and posted a comment on my wall, which is up there now, that says "Shut Up, Troll." I don't think individual's walls should be used as a conduit for personal attacks. I request a written caution delivered to Woodruff in a non-public forum (I don't believe he should be publicly humiliated for this, just counseled about appropriate interpersonal communication skills.)

You don't think he should be publicly humiliated.... What are you doing here then?

I do not "foe" people. If I am having a dispute with someone then I friend them because I believe a foe is a friend you just don't know well enough.

I did? Then surely you can point to the post where I demanded that you stop participating in any forum. Thanks!

So who ARE you, really? Because you're clearly someone who's been busted from the site coming back to troll...and just as clearly desperate to be found out, I might add. Found a library computer to post from, I take it? It must be someone who I've recently annoyed with my comments regarding Fred or DM...I can't imagine anything else.

Woodruff - I don't want to make this a personal issue so I prefer to let the mods sort this out, however, one point of clarification (and only one, I don't want to do instant replays here so I am choosing not to reply to further comments from you in this thread):

(1) in this thread you used incendiary language, belittlement and accusations of "trolling" (accusations which, IMHO, always appears to be the last redoubt of the intellectually befuddled) to try to chase me away:

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=91709&start=30

(2) after I indicated I would no longer be checking/participating in this thread you proceeded to "follow" me and vandalize my wall

Please understand, I don't know who you are and have never heard of you before this in my life. Oftentimes we experience feelings where we like to think we are more notorious or well-known than, in fact, we are; everyone experiences it, Woodruff, so I'm not giving you the sharp one-eye for also experiencing it. You're human! However, this is a fact-finding thread and we need to try to check all that at the door.

You sound like you might be an older gentleman and I appreciate your participation here. I think you can serve as a role model for younger members if you can accept some proactive counsel in appropriate interpersonal communication skills.

Thanks, woodruff!

It seems that you are taking this personally and making this personal issue public as well.

It's a curious thing that when I read Woodruff's posts not only do they tend to be logical, but I also tend to hear Mr.Spock's voice. When I read your posts saxitoxin there is also a familiar quality to them, that gives me the feeling that you have been here before.

I don't consider name calling and chest thumping "logical" (note that I never replied in-kind), but I respect your right to a different opinion.

There are certainly generational differences that can, sometimes, impede effective cross-cultural communications. I've noted that Woodruff, being an older gentleman, has a lot to bring to the table. At the same time, however, the demographic difference that might exist between himself and me could also be a source of friction. If we follow the Rainbow Rule we should be able to work it out, however.

Thanks, oVo!

That is SWEEEEEET.

(Put that in Mr. Spock's voice, mister!)

There's no question of it, in my opinion.

You've mentioned this a couple of times...I really do wonder how old you think I am. <chuckle> Older gentleman, indeed.

Woodruff, I did NOT mean to be ageistic when I said "older gentleman." I meant that only as a sign of respect to you. I imagine you are probably at least 40, possibly 45, but - like I said - I am NOT using that as a slur or insult and I apologize if my intent was misconstrued.

I didn't take it as a slur. I was just honestly curious at what point you considered to fit "older gentleman". It's telling, really.

Woodruff is usually, actually practically never, not offensive in any way shape or form. My urine is usually filled with worse things than him, you know germs and such and other things the body rejects. Woodruff is an alright guy by me, and the OP seems to be trolling a lot, and holding a grudge at the moment.
