Accused:

macedonio

The accused are suspected of:

Other: Intentional Deadbeating

Game number(s):

Game 5009340

Comments:

2009-06-02 22:22:03 - macedonio: Enjoy playin alone

That's a pretty clear intention to deadbeat out of the game, in a 1 vs 1 it means handing over your points without a fight, but in a multiplayer game that can upset the dynamics and ruin the game for a lot of people. I've not searched his other games, but his ratings pages speaks volumes about his past antics.

Wow! some ruthless trash talk. I've never seen that kind of trash talk by CC players before. Normally, the game chat is full of positive stuff! someone better warn him before he gets a tempirory ban from CC.

It's not the trash talk I'm reporting him for, it's the deliberate deadbeating, I found the trash talk more amusing than offensive.

Game 5015889 Same thing. deadbeats and foul language.

Game 5015786 and here too...

The language will only get you warned, the deadbeating is strictly forbidden.

Unwritten Rules

Obviously any gross abuse of the game is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to: throwing games or deliberately benefiting from thrown games, intentional deadbeating, serial teammate killing, hijacking accounts, systematically "farming" new members.

This member should be put on temporary timeout at least, and if things don't change, banned for good.

Nah. Come on. You two obviously didn't hit it off. He decided to quit and deadbeat. It happens. This isn't a big deal in itself, you got premium and you won the 1 v. 1 game. If this was something that occurred regularly, well that's one thing. But an occasional deadbeating doesn't really warrant a C&A report IMO.

While I agree that if it happens once or twice, no big deal (I have even been so fed up with the dice that I just say screw it and don't want to finish the game) but this player has a history of doing the same thing over and over. I only went back 10 games and found 4 instances of the exact same thing, the other 6 games he won. At what point does it become more than just catching a guy on a bad day? I think with this player it is more, and should be treated as such. That's just my 2 cents though 8-)

Ok I have a few minutes, I'll list all the games I can find that he does this in....

Game 5009625 - deadbeat and language
Game 5009340 - deadbeat and language
Game 5009340 - language only
Game 5007936 - deadbeat and language
Game 5003307 - deadbeat and language
Game 5003307 - language only
Game 5003307 - language only
Game 5002166 -Language and deadbeat, was finished off before he was kicked though.
Game 5002166 - language and deadbeat. was finished off before he was kicked.
Game 5002166 - deadbeat and language, was finished off before he was kicked.
Game 4982843 - deadbeat and language
Game 4982673 - deadbeat and language. was finished off before he was kicked
Game 4982516 - deadbeat and language
Game 4980946 - language only
Game 4980943 - language only
Game 4975662 - language and deadbeat. was finished off before he was kicked
Game 4975419 - deadbeat and language. was finished off before he was kicked.
Game 4975419 - language only.

Ok, that's the first page of his games, and this is getting old. This is more than just an occasional bad game. This is EVERY loss.

Totally agree. Just that I only saw three games reported here with links. But if a history is proven, it seems like it would amount to some kind of breach of the unwritten rules to me as well. Dunno where the line is drawn though, guess that's for the mods.

I had a look at this game. The name - macedonio - rang a bell, which is why I was curious. I've played him once before myself in Game 4905959, I beat him fair and square, for which I got abuse from him as well as a bad rating with the tag 'Coward' (rather strange, since my armies were constantly advancing). I thought I'd foed him, but obviously I haven't, probably because I know I can beat him.

Anyway, looking at Artimis' game with macedonio, I would point out three things.

1: I absolutely agree that dead beating intentionally, even in a 1-on-1 game, is unsporting. In a multi-player game, it can wreck the balance of the whole game.

2: This macedonio is rude and unbalanced. I seriously recommend that anyone who might read this avoids playing him.

3: An observation from the game itself. At one point macedonio wrote 'Why don't you attack the dead zone, coward?' I gather that Artimis suspected there may have been a trap or large armies beyond it. Not playing the way your opponent wants you to play isn't cowardice, it's clever strategy.

4: (I know I said three points but this one is so funny I just have to mention it).
Artimis asked 'Do you actually know what 'coward' means?' to which macedonio replied 'Check the diccion ary asshole'. Looking through the chat, I think macedonio is the one who needs a dictionary - enogh? diccion ary? tropps? I rest my case!

Incidentally, I have played Artimis a few times. He is a good sport and a fine player, and in no way deserved the kind of abuse that he received from macedonio.
