Seulessliathan [Cleared]

Postby Chariot of Fire on Tue Apr 28, 2009 1:07 pm

Accused:

Seulessliathan
Tacita
Eleyn

The accused are suspected of:

Being Multis
Game number(s):

Game 4631046

Comments:

This is very painful to report this, because until now I had had the utmost respect for Seul and his playing style & manner. Then just last week I received a PM "Hey, join my games" and after having joined one (the one listed above) I noticed a common trait - he's in all these games with two low-ranking freemium members.

He says they are lady friends of his in Germany, but the funny thing is whenever they have played a turn he is online very soon afterwards. When I said in chat "It feels like I'm only playing you" (this is a trips game) he said to me "you joined my games, not vice versa , if you want to play other opponents, feel free to do so"

Look at the playing history of these three people - all of it under Seul's direction I guess.

Please take the time to check the IP addresses, as I'm pretty sure you'll find these aren't just two other ladies in Germany who happen to be very good players (for their rank) and online an awful lot of the time for freemiums (i.e. very punctual with their turns).

Sort it out because it taints this site when someone like that invites you (by PM) into a spider's web just to boost his ranking.

Thank you.

hmmm seul a multi? no way! he may have just been taking turns for them? or watching their account...but i dont think he is a multi. Seul does like playing on teams with the ladies as do most cc guys..

Before you leap in and defend him maybe you should just check it out. I bet no chat exists between them in the games coz he is taking all the turns. It's hardly ethical when he sets up the games and then takes the turns on their behalf.

I thought the same of Seul, but now my confidence is shaken and frankly I just don't trust this 'convenient' system of play that he's adopted.

Why don't you send some pm,s arround before accusing one of CC's best and HONEST player of being a Multi.

I have been taking Seul his turns over this weekend and there is a lot of chat in the games..
Infact Tactica is his girlfriend. You can check IP adresses and i hope the mods will coz seul explained in TSM thread.

It's a bloody shame that a general will post this before asking other people.

Would Seul really be so stupid to be a multi? Think Carrot of Fire....

maybe you should check my games more carful, in most of the games i started random team mates joined, most of them are medium or high ranked. Some games are tournament games and some are clan war stuff. Yes, i started maybe 10 games with german friends. Thats perhaps 10% or 15% of my games i started lately. Have you never seen that people from same country play together? You can see that for several , i didn´t know this is cheating, but i will report all the american guys who play together at once.

Chariot of Fire wrote:He says they are lady friends of his in Germany, but the funny thing is whenever they have played a turn he is online very soon afterwards (i.e. he is playing their account and then logs back in himself). It's too damn obvious and is blatant cheating to do this.

any proof for this accusation? it´s damm hard to say something like that without any proof.

FYI: if you want to accuse me for being a multi, you can report me with Scott-Land ... i took his turns the last 2 weeks because he is gone atm and nobody knows where he is .... i announced it each time in gamechat ...
i sit for Tacita maybe 3 times , weekends when she was away. Not sure if i ever babysit for Eleyn, usually i sit for clan mates if they ask me for.

Do you never talk with your team? Is it a crime if they take their turns while i am online? One of them is usually asking me for my opinion, but not the other one. Not sure what is the problem about this, my clan mates often do the same.

and i am pretty sure you will find the opposite ....

I'm happy to see Seul was cleared, but if a guy is considered a 'noob' solely for wrongly accusing someone of cheating, then you people are ignorant.

What would sending pm's around do? Isn't this the most efficient way? Yes there was no evidence, but can you really say there was no suspicion at all? Looking at the game, (and the little [cleared] at the top) I would agree that it is unlikely that Seul is/was cheating. I'm sure it wouldn't be the first time someone of high rank and class cheated though. And seriously, it's not hard to check IPs, these reports don't 'taint' the site and isn't 'slander.'

Maybe I'm just a "noob"

Yeah! why dont we all just bash the paying customers when they are concerned and reporting potential cheaters amongst the 'high ranked' players.

I apologize sincerely if my accusation is unfounded. I simply sensed something wasn't right and went through the appropriate channels. Seul had said in chat "If you want to go ahead and report it in Cheating & Abuse......go on". So I did.

I may have been a bit heavy-handed and the tone may have been too inflammatory in my original post, which I regret. I don't, however, believe I did the wrong thing by reporting what I felt was suspicious (and am somewhat bemused at being labelled a 'noob' for having done so).

May Seul and his friends have a long and successful partnership. Sorry for causing fire when perhaps there was only smoke.

I am not sure why teamchat is important for this, but i can copy from teamchat if this is interesting for the record:

We sometimes talk via ICQ too, if this is illegal, we can use MSN like all the others. As you can (maybe, if you speak our language) see, we just play for fun, not seriously fighting for points.

If anyone doesn´t believe this teamchat exists, ask kratos

it's important Seul, only completely mad genius' would leave themselves notes (in every game, to be sure) from a variety of assumed persona's, with alternate matching personality traits and linguistic structures. (sounds easier to just tell a couple of noobs what to do instead ;) )

Mad, brilliant and bloody dedicated.. i think you should be the next Bond villain! "Soulless Liathan" in "The Man with the Golden Pun!"

I am very happy to see Chariots sincere apology, so hopefully that is an end to it.

I would add that i understand the anger Seul felt at this accusation and its manner, having been accused long ago under very similar circumstance.

I think Chariots initial misunderstanding of the situation lead him to convince himself that duplicity was afoot.

The statement "It feels like I'm only playing you" was measured to exact a response. The problem is (i think perhaps people forget that English is not what everyone lives and breathes) Seul took this to mean 'i am in too many games with you' and not what he came to realise was the tentative step to accusation of fraud!

Then Chariot convinced himself that deception was in play due to an inconsistent response validating his first suspicion. This initial fallacy lead to a misinterpretation of all the facts and the flawed analysis of Seuls pattern of behaviour.

From here, annoyed at being duped into losing points from low rankers, insanely suspicious, each reaction from Seul tainted with inconsistency within Chariots mind... this thread was almost inevitable. (I have seen it in Quincy many times; textbook misappropriation of guilt leading to the tailoring of evidence!)

So if we can discount those perpetually itching for a rumble .. (heheh that would be Eipi and Bro ;) ) hopefully we can move on and the clans will not retain a mutual, seething antipathy.

though as i said before.. that brooding anger from being wrongly accused, in such a definite and certain manner, is tough to immediately let go of.
Anyone who has not received it from someone they formerly respected can not understand the breach of fundamental misjudgement.

so down to you Seul, i support you in all you do.

A rather brilliant analysis from jiminski (which made for excellent reading) was close, but no cigar. It did, however, stem from the "Why does it feel like I'm only playing you?" comment. Nice work Columbo.

A few things to say here - all of them positive:

- Seul has since written to me and is prepared to let the matter pass. It's quite a testament to the guy's character, as 99% of others probably wouldn't be so forgiving. It's why I've always liked the chap, and is why it pained me to file the darned report in the first place. Thank you Seul.

- Admirable support from both camps, all of which was meant with the best intentions. I wouldn't expect anything less, as one wouldn't go in a public forum and denounce a clan mate saying "Sorry buddy, you're wrong". So thank you to those who donned the gloves, and to firstholliday you've proved yourself a very loyal friend, under which circumstances any comments you made can be well-recognized for what they are; dedicated support.

So my apologies for lobbing a grenade into your camp. It's been a lesson, yet I hope we can remain friends and perhaps be all the stronger for it.

CoF
