It's only two games, and he seems pretty kind and helpful. I guess if there were more games, it could be considered farming.

obliterationX,

Please clarify. I understand that:
- anyone can play Newbies as long as they don't FOCUS on them and take advantage of them to a high degree.
- as long as I play a mix of non-newbies (and not a high % of newbies) I can play who I want.
- I saw Spam emails to people trying to take advantage to Newbies. I never did anything like that.

Those Q's were asked by me in Social Chat and those were then understandings I left with.

OK?

You are welcome to spell out and clarify the Newbie Farming rule for me in short simple detail.

yo Jeff either read the rules more carefully or ask them to explain more carefully. . .Because I asked in Social:

If I don't play a high % of Newbies, can I still play them -- especially when I tend to HELP them learn
I was told -- as long as I don't FOCUS on them, I can play who I want when I want.

I am amazed that you are so interested in who I play. .

And you would NEVER be a helpful person to newbies -- always taking advantage of them.. .unless someone like myself challenged you to. . .

"venite adoremus" doesn't ALWAYS apply to you. . . sometimes to me. .

I will simply paste a quote from the following topic: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=73745

"Newbie Farming" is the technique of setting up as many games as possible (either by starting or joining them) with New Recruits to gain easy points by taking advantage of difficult game options and the fact the New Recruits are more likely to deadbeat. Some players have been farming extensively - even sending hundreds of PMs to the latest members to get them into their games.

This is a gross abuse of the game. It gives the New Recruit "victims" a poor first experience and reduces the chances of them sticking around. As farmers move up the scoreboard it also harms the competitive nature of Conquer Club - the scoreboard is meant to measure skill in the game, not "harvesting" techniques.

In accordance with the desires and feedback of the majority of the community, our rules and as a new leaf for 2009, it is our New Years resolution to make Newbie Farming forbidden. Members who continue this practice will receive point resets and then progressively longer website bans.

This does not mean you will get in trouble for joining a game here and there with many new recruits. We are only talking about the systematic targeting of new recruits.

That looks clear. Two games is not systematic targeting. Maybe Jeff just has an axe to grind with David

out of the few games he has played since the rule was made 2 of them are new recruits and quite a few were pretty new players (like 10 games played and stuff)

he also played a lot of them before the rule was made

Even if he is targeting them, if he is friendly and willing to help them, he is improving the new recruits experience of the game. I say fire away Dave!

As these are the only two games he has played against new recruits since the anti-farming announcement, there will be no punishment. New Recruits will continue to set up games and someone has to play them. The rule was implemented to stop the chronic targeting of New Recruits with the intent of taking advantage of the system. As this is not what was done in this case, this will be marked [Noted].
