Improper use of personal information. He is using a picture of Owenshooter as his avatar. Precedent shows that this deserves a long forum vacation.

I love the fact that he is on a ban, so therefore his avatar can't be changed. That seems to make no sense. I guess when I decide to finally leave CC, I will find the most disgusting scat porn for my avatar, and then go away forever leaving those images all over CC.

They can, which is why I said someone already notified admin. The issue with the vacation is that a mod can't PM him and ask him to change his avatar first, which is how issues with avatars are handled.

Timmy, it is a PICTURE of OWEN. Therefore personal info. The new community guidelines clearly state, that posting personal info about any user other than yourself, even if they posted it on CC or elsewhere on the web (myspace etc) is not allowed. Otherwise we would all be flying a picture of Twill as our avatar with crude comments on it.

As a matter of interest, has owen ever said that its him in his avatar. If not then personal info hasnt been used because it could be anybody, and on that note does any photo of an individual used as an avatar count as using personal info, or is this just a personal vendetta?

And wasnt it you, jbrettlip, that used wickeds old avatar with 'i love lymes' on it. You thought that was ok and tasteful did you?

Gypsy, I used an avatar that was a picture of me, a tick and I love lymes. Then I used one of some limes, that said "I love limes". Twill forced me to take down the lymes avatar and claimed it was using personal info (I guess of anyone who had lymes?) I never understood that decision.

And it is nothing personal against Dagip...I don't know him/her. It is the fact that he is using a picture of a CC member, when other CC users have been banned for longer times, for less.

I stand corrected on the wicked thing, but if owen hasnt stated that it is him in the avi, then no personal info has been used. It could be a pic of anyone. If he has said that its him, then that brings up the issue of any avi pic of a person, famous or otherwise. Are they classed as personal info? Or is it only CC members?

Owen has actually stated in the past that the pic is of himself. I cannot be arsed to find where right now, but it is in the forums somewhere.

Gypsys, That is a picture of Owen. Most people on this site know that it is. Of course Brett knows that it is him since they are friends. Twill also knows that it is Owen's pic. Owen cannot post in here right now because he is on a forum ban. I also know for a fact that is his picture.

Dont get me wrong, I assumed it was his picture, but what I assume, or indeed I'm told, doesnt make it true. And like you, Fruitcake, I couldnt be bother to search for it either. I very occasionally get the urge to play devils advocate, and this was the lucky topic. Anyway I've finished now, I'll go back to watching and reading.

Ok, the avatar has been removed. Just as a side note, a mod saw the avatar before this thread was created and tried to let DaGip know that it should be removed. Yes, it is owens picture, but other people have used the avatar before with slight changes to it. The bigger reason behind it being changes was that it was seen as flaming in the forums.

The whole point of this should be that if more than one person has used it, with modifications, then they should all be punished for using someone elses personal info, not just the person who wrote an obcenity on it. Which is what I assume he got his vacation for.

What are you pissed off about, the fact that he used the pic or that he flamed on it.

If its that he flamed on it, he's been punished already. If its the use of the pic, why didnt you complain when the other CC members used it. And it doesnt matter if owen gave permission for others to use it. Ask DM.

Well... isn't the girl in your picture someone other than you? Isn't that revealing her personal information? How do you know she isn't on CC?

If a user wishes to post their OWN picture, email, phone number, address, social security number or whatever the heck they want, they can. But posting that information about someone ELSE is not allowed. This site is for users to be anonymous and not to have other people post personal information about them. And getting permission from someone to post information about them is NOT allowed either.

What's up with that? It says you can't post anybody elses personal info no matter what. Even if you get their permission.
