You may have seen an advert in forums about a new games site that some CCers have recently set up.
We currently have a banner competition (cash prize!) going as we are in need of a good one, so I'm sending out the info to clan leaders, map makers and all the creative types I can think of to ask them to take part.
I have permission to advertise here, so there's nothing hidden or subversive about this
We actually have a link to CC from our site to encourage tournaments for games played here.
Anyway, I hope you'll feel like taking part, or are able to pass on the message to whoever it is does your banners and logos...maybe, if it's not too much to ask, you could post this in any hidden clan forum you may be a member of.

every other time i have recieved a mail advertising another website i report it here, and in the past it has always been recognized as spam, how is this different? and how does this site help cc? surely there may have been a better way to go about this then sending out mass pm's . i dont understand, perhaps i have jumped the gun, but i just dont get it.

no way permission was given to advertise a new site via PM. if it were true, a thread would have been allowed in the GD... if they did give permission, i would be shocked.-0

Oh don't get me wrong, I wouldn't assume they would allow it. It was merely stated so I was going on what she said.

Even giving them permission on a thread is a bit much. Unless it's a sponsored advert. Lord knows $25 will get you just about anything on this site, no matter what you've done/are doing

Even so, mass PM is totally different and far, far more annoying.

Permission was given to advertise on this site. A thread was made in the forum and I personally sent PMs to clan leaders and people with great sigs - I guess around 45 people in all - hardly mass spamming. A lot of them are people I already know here.

What I'm looking for is creative people for a competition we're holding.
I'm not looking to harm CC by doing this - on the contrary, our site has a link to here which we hope will encourage more games here and tournaments with us, there.

i think you are the one spewing up dirt. all of the clan leaders and mods that i have spoken with about it shared the same suspicions that i hold.

sent to many people, and i certainly didnt ask for it, nor am i interested, the message was confusing and so is the website.

where would this site be if everybody was allowed to send out pm's for their personal websites, it would become chaos, imagine if every dipshit from flame wars could spam you up for their blogs. i am not interested in that happening here, and i find it hard to believe that that is something that lack wants.

exactly... i reported the PM as soon as i got it. i hate spam in my box, especially spam that advertises other sites. others have off site forums, etc... but i never receive SPAM about them, except from IPH and one of Wicked's multis... nice company to be in, eh?-0
