The accused are suspected of:

Account abuse
Points dumping by proxy
Teammate killing by proxy
Being a general pain in the ass, for the players and the mods


Comments:

She has been logging onto accounts within LoW by using passwords BENJI stored in his saved folder. The accounts she has logged into are lt.pie, waseemalim, and Velvecarrots. These accounts have been deactivated, along with BENJIKAT IS DEAD, but we do not know how many passwords were stored in the Saved Folder, and whether they were written down for later shennanigans. She has also been dragging our names through the mud in the forums, starting massive numbers of games for points dumping, and taking turns involving teammate killing and general disarray. It would be appreciated if this account was dealt with to at least send the message that this sort of behaviour is not tolerated. In the long run, this will lead to less work that the mods have to do as, at the moment, it is a trainwreck.

This is really bad, but funny. He should have realised when she made the account to delete all traces of cc.

As an addendum to this, we believe she has the change password links in her private inbox (no puns please fellas), so is able to change the passwords on at least 4, and up to 6 accounts. There's not much that can be done about this from the CC end other than reissue the accounts, change the site code, or be prepared to deal with this mess next time it comes up.

what it looks like benjis widow did was changed the users registered emails then changed there passwords, so the original account owners can not log on or restore there accounts by using the lost password feature as the password reset email would go to the new email registered in the database.

All they can hope for is an admin to reset the email ( a mod can not do this on phpbb3, its in the admin tools) or for a database backup that is over 24 hours old to be applied, again this requires an admin.

im tired of reading about account hijacking or spouses causing issues because there is a fight and they want to get even. the bottome line is, stop telling other people your passwords. its 100% totally the players fault.

Velve or someone signed in as Velve have been off and on in the last hour- since I'm in Blitz's cursed tourny we weren't sure how to play. Anyhow, I pmed him but no response- so I'm guessing it's Widow.

Benji's widow always signed in from the UK, velve is now showing a USA flag. So unless she is using a proxy we can hope that it is now velvecarrots back.

I appreciate your input Blitz, but you're basically suggesting we close the gate after the horse has bolted

She already has the passwords, has changed the emails, and has the change password links, so everything is in her hands. This is due to the fact that Benji, being our leader, kept our password in his saved folders in case of emergency. Obviously, he had the password to his account saved in Firefox too, so she had access to everything, and made a mess for many many people.

It was for account sitting purposes, we're not all like you, with our ass stapled to the PC chair 24-7 JR. The passwords were in the hands of the clan leader, and were intended to only be used in emergency situations.

Perhaps you are suggesting that account sitting and deadbeating should be bannable offences?

Velvecarrots, lt.pie, and waseemalim are all reactivated and secure. We are in the process of securing every account that may be suspect but wasn't affected.

I'd like to thank the mods for acting quickly on this one. Tournaments should no longer be affected, and all games should now run smoothly.

Sometimes a culling takes place, inadvertantly or otherwise.

So what happens to the scores or Wase and Velve? Anyhow all those games could be nulled out? I know lack has the power to delete games, so maybe that is needed here. Wase got shafted on some points.

Glad to hear that this is on its way to being sorted out. Ugly situation.
