Comments: So I am always a bit weary of a "new player" that joins a a public 8 man freestyle game ASAP. Originally I had made 2 games, but quickly dropped 2 of them, as they were not filling with players I enjoyed playing. The majority had ranks, which generally do not understand how escalating cards work. This player had joined both of my games. Well me and a few other better players dropped them. Started a new one and right away this player joined again. So got me to thinking right off the bat that this was not going to be good, but since it was a public game I went with it. Well as I expected this player hit a large stack early on. I questioned his move in game chat. He would later respond with "2008-08-02 08:52:09 - Jokester: sorry brucewar... i was just informed in a previous game how these escalating games work. i do apologies, i was trying to go for territory and doesnt matter in this game." Seeing as he was still a ? this got me to thinking more. Since he was still under 5 games at the time I checked all his games and not a word was said about anything he mentioned. Another red flag! Well he ended up with South America after hitting my large stack. Not such a big deal. I am used to suicides. Then all of a sudden this player is a Private first class. So I checked his games out and every last one of them was freestyle! Not a setting generally chosen by a new person, and certainly not 8 man games. That is unless they take forever to fill and end up on the 1st page of "Join A Game". I then noticed he is winning 60% out of the gate! Yet another red flag. I checked every game he was in or had finished, and not one bit of advice about escalating cards. So not sure how he was informed when nobody told him anything. Did we not just have a bust like this? Maybe I am paranoid, but this is just not a setting people win 60% out of gate on. He knew all the right moves to make in a complicated 8 man game. Having played prolly 1000 or so of these, I can tell you that no other ? that has ever joined any of my games has had success out of the gates like he has. I have played a good many ?'s as well as other ranks. These public games always seem to fill with a decent mix of ranks. There are just to many RED flags to say this person does not have another account somewhere. Also in his other games he speaks as if he has a fairly vast knowledge of Escalating card games.

Thanks for looking into this. Lucky he is a freeium right now so that will keep his game count low.

Looks to me like you've compiled some nice evidence. It seems weird that they would join those games and shoot up that quickly.

They could be really good at the game (or beginners luck), and that message about esc coulda been sent in a PM (possibly?)...but it seems like it was well researched.

Either way, nice job getting (what appears to me to be) solid evidence

I always have solid evidence if I am going to make a bust or try to. Every person who I have suspected has been busted. This is just not a style new players generally play and win at a high rate at. That was the first red flag. So I went and did some homework. You are correct about that it could have been via PM, but new players generally do not know about PM's that fast. He did say in another game, so I assumed the game chat. Lets see what the hunters come up with.

what's even stranger is that he only plays classic?!?!
shouldn't a lot of new recruits be interested in other maps like Circus Maximus or World 2.1?

Not always, but most of the time they just pick join a game page.

I placed this report as pending before because you may have something going with your case. However, after all this time, due to lack of incriminating information to pin this account with another one, this shall be cleared, but still noted for future reference, just in case.

Well I must say this person is a) a good cheater as the mods cannot find his other account, or b) better than 95% of us when we start this game out. I am going still in the cannot find his account camp. I will keep a watch on this player and see if I can turn up more.

Here is some more info....

This is about game 5 or so for him. He had played 4 8 man freestyle games. Won 2 of them. That is 50% out of the gate. Very high and very unusual. I still say there is another account somewhere else...

As I said, there appears to be something not right in this account, but then again, not enough information to mark him yet. Still, he may also be just a good or lucky player.

Well I finally got the idea to Send a PM to him and see what was up....

I feel bad for the guy - he isnt doing anything wrong intentionally.

Personally, I think people should be granted the optional name change every now and then. Most sites allow for one around once every 3 months or so. Most people dont even use it, or change it from something like FabledIntegral to FabledIntegral` . Its more peoples ignorance than wanting to get around the rules.... although yes I know the saying Ignorant of hte Law is not an excuse.

I have been in Contact with King A. I will be sending him more info.

It was a 50/50 chance that these two were connected but I just had to be sure first.

ttyme2317 is busted with Jokester and ttyme2317 is reverted back to a freemium.

tbh half of the reason I cared is he kept joining my games as a lower ranked player who was doing well. This is bad for many reasons I will not go into, but just think if Scott-Land made a new account and "started over". His skill would far preceed his rank, until he made it back up to the top. This is what was going on here. After seeing his last PM's I felt a bit bad about busting him out, but it needed to be done.
