Question [settled]

As many of you may know I hate cheats!! I would like to know whether If I report suspects via e-ticket they will be dealt with in the same way as threads?
The BM episode has left me feeling a little exposed. The venom with which he launched an attack on me has left me feeling that there must be a better way than accusing somone/a number of users than in a public forum. So far I have only got it wrong once and I withdrew that accusation and apoogised myself before the hunters got to look at it.
The chess site I belong to deals with these things via e-ticket. ie. an accusation is made and a response is given via messaging firstly saying it will be looked into and secondly the result. This is then made public.
It seems as soon as an accusation is made publically it alerts the cheats who scurry away to hide under a stone and try creating smoke screens.
If they were unaware of the accusation they would merrily go on cheating until the hunters had looked at them in action and in retrospect.
I know a lot of people draw pleasure from watching these cases unfold but I believe it would make the hunters jobs easier if it were secret.
Really this is a question for the hunters as they have to do the work.

delboy01, I did not personally read all of the BM episode. I share your idea about cheats. I think the support you give players who are posting on this forum is invaluable. Many others do the same and I think they all should be applauded. I wish I could do the same and am trying (but my last efforts ended in shame - thank you lancehoch and curmudgeonx and more power to Fireside Poet). Whatever happens, I think you should know that I appreciate your effort, I feel many others do, and should be acknowledged.

Indeed, E-tickets are a way to report accusations, out of the public eye. Be warned, they may take a little longer to be looked at, as the Forum is #1 priority, but the e-ticket reports are generally done the same way as those in the forum.

Granted, but alerting cheats that they are being looked at simply gives them the opportunity to come up with an elaborate excuse. like 'it's not my multi he's my brother'. 'You are only doing this because I beat you'. 'We only play doubles'. Etc. BM's less than eliquent response although amusing resulted in at least one person posting support for him.
Maybe e-tickets could be given a quick look by the hunters with advice then being given about the validity of the accusation prior to a thread being raised. What I see as secret deplomacy may not be seen that way by the admins.
Persoanlly, I look at win percentages of suspects first before delving deeper. I have found 3 players who when they play together in games with any 2 of them playing they have a win percentage of 85% plus. their win percentages on average are aroung the 40% mark.

The thing is, when you report someone in an eticket, it is a full report. It has the same effect as a report here. If someone looks into a multi accusation in an eticket and sees multis, they will make the bust. They will not wait for someone to make a thread about it.

As Andy and lancehoch has mentioned, yes, reports done through e-Tickets is dealt with the same extent and investigation as how we also deal with the reports here.

Hey, delboy. You've done great work, but I was the one that reported BM and his other accounts. If anyone wants to rub it in to him, it should be me. lol.

I know you were. I found ottoman67 and Hammertime65 after I read and posted in your thread. But BM seemed to think it was just me after him. He lauched a fantastic attack on me in the ottoman thread saying I was stalking him etc. Then someone pointed out that the thread was not about him!!
Got any more for me?
