All multihunters [Noted]

All multihunters, I have a friend that just joined under the username: lag... He loves risk but it just so happens that another member living with him does also. I told him I would post asking if this would be okay and get back to him. They would most likely play many games together, and I don't think one of them would dominate every single game... I just wanted to post preventing the ban of my friend due to multiple accounts.
Thank you for all of your hard work
please get back to me if this would be okay for them to both play, and since I, and some others that know him and could verify that they would not be multis I think it would be okay myself.

Even though I'm not a multi-hunter myself, I would really suggest your friend and his/her roommate to use different computers to play CC.

1. Don't you think they would see this better in their forum
(Cheating & Abuse Reports)?
2. Why didn't your friend write this? Looks suspicious for you to write in his/her behalf if he/she already has an account.
3. I don't think they should play together.

I say fine.
Worrying too much about multi's ruins the spirit of the game.
Not much different than spending your life here trying to get points, by any means necessary. Doesn't garner much respect, no matter how many points you get.
Now, people who play the game, enjoy, AND are good at it, those are the ones who get the respect. Playing games with buddies is just one more way to enjoy it

I figured it would better for someone else (with a diff. ip address) to write it. That way you can have somone else that knows that they are not multis and just living together... I just don't want my friend to get banned so I'm posting, how does that look suspicious???!!! I'm gonna repost in the suggs and buggs forum to get some opinions of others that actualy count... or if someone could move this I'd appreciate it...

it's fine if they play in doubles/triples/quads, but having friends play in games together is unfair to the other players. IMO, there's too big a risk the friends don't attack each other on purpose in certain situations, therefore causing some secret alliances. even if they don't do it on purpose, they will always be less likely to attack their friend.

do they have the board game? if so plenty of these maps could be mocked up useing poser board and paper(for when they want to play each other) and they can roam free to play seperate games on CC

well the games they'd be playing in together would either be team games, or against all friends or just eacth other...

Yeah that's what I'd do... just play in teams with your family and it also prevents arguments

I'd like to think I've made some friends on the site ( don't say a word H2
), and when we're in games together-- we still play each other just as hard or sometimes even harder. Clan members are a perfect example when playing amongst one another. It's the spirit of competition. There are several guys on the site that I wish I could play both in the same game but like everything else, it's unfortunate that some players have to abuse the system and ruin it for others. Too bad they can't just leave their friendship at the door- if anything, engage in chat as friends.

Playing against friends is great. I enjoy playing many people on this site. My problem is when two people are playing from the same computer in the same games (non team games). Then it seems it would be hard to tell if it's a multi or just friends.

well this may come to a simple conclusion after all... I talked to them and the one that hasn't joined yet said that they didn't have to play to avoid an argument... but it's still good to know your opinions for anything that could come up in the future...

I had already been on CC for several months when my girlfriend decided to join. I sent one of the hunters a PM when she did so that it would be on record if we ever did play from the same computer or whatever. I kept a copy for my records, but we only play singles games if they are private games to avoid any accusations anyway.

We Gen One'rs have it good. Night Stick's gf, Optie's wife, and my fiancee all play. I think there are more, but it's too early for any thought.

Unfortunately, the bottom line is that it's better not to play in a sequential game with a relative or significant other. It may be completely innocent but sooner or later there is going to be a problem and some sore loser will point the finger. When that happens you will be at the mercy of public opinion.
I spend a lot of time in the C&A section of the forum and I can say that this happens commonly. If somebody complains 3 months down the road, it will become a serious issue. It also leaves the door open for behavior that was not part of the plan. Such as helping your significant friend out by making moves that favor him or something as simple as not attacking them for a couple of rounds. Whatever it is; it's just not worth the potential flack from the CC community.
As somebody mentioned earlier, play them in doubles, trip or quads but don't play a multi-player game with them. This site has tons of great competitors so it's not necessary to recruit your own talent. More importantly, it's not worth risking your serenity or the serenity of somebody you care for; just to play a few games together.
