Subject line: Bruceswar and kathleen

These are suspected Multis
Suspect users: Bruceswar and kathleen

Game number: http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=1747567
Comments: The chat throughout the game is a bit of a clue, as well as the log, plus, after not attacking each other all game, and only one of the players answering for both, when I let kathleen keep a bonus to break up Bruceswar (I said so in the chat) she went ahead and attacked me anyways, which let Bruceswar win the game

Sparta 1

Just out of curiosity, you posted under The Rabbit, but you signed Sparta 1. And Sparta 1 is a player on this site. Would this be a case of the pot calling the kettle black? Or is there another reason for this?

Thats my bad, I was account sitting for my friend, The Rabbit, as he is on vacation becuase it is winter break at our school. I got pissed by Bruceswar and Kathleen's actions. It was just an automatic reaction to sign as Sparta 1. I'm not completly sure what the policy is on account sitting, but if it is illegal, niether I, nor The Rabbit knew and I appoligize.

Account sitting is definitely legal, there are rules about it though (can't find the thread right now). I just thought it was strange to see a different signature from the username, and then I looked you up and saw that it was a second, valid username.

... it could simply be that while he was sitting, he valued his friend's game to be of same importance as his own. Perhaps in posting he instinctively just clicked "Forums" as opposed to logging out.

There is always the chance that he is cheating (the fact that 2 players can be from a same country seems to be enough to warrant an accusation nowadays but I am in a situation where I can understand playing with friends and respecting that line of honouring the rules without avoiding playing with friends.

I could be wrong but I think Sparta 1 just made an impulse post after being suspicious of play and did not remember to log out. For what it's worth, a player that will occasionally forget to log out of a "sit-ees" account and hastily chase clarification about suspect cheaters is the kind of player I would want sitting my account. You may forget to log out of my account when you instinctively hit "forums" and make a post, but this tells me you accord the same value to sitting your friend's game to the best of your ability and do not say: "Well this is suspicious, but its not against my account so I'll let it slide and tell my friend when he gets back what happened, I'll let him deal with it"

Good on you Sparta 1. If there is a counter-claim and you also get a pending investigation I sincerely hope you guys are cleared quickly. Take it from someone who knows, when friends play together, it is very tough to prove innocence. Friends of mine have gone through the whole... (whats the english term...) "Shabang(?)" a time or 2 and the worse thing that can happen is if a friend leaves or stops playing because they feel its the only way to satisfy someone.

again, good on you for taking your sitting responsability as serious as you take your own games and it is very respectable that you would report suspected abuse against your friend's account as opposed to waiting for them to come back saying "I made your moves, but dealing with cheaters, your account, your job"

Trust, I only said it looked suspicious, I am not making an accusation. I agree that this was probably just someone sitting who forgot to log out. Although this does beg the question, why was it not noted in the game chat that someone was sitting on the account, in any of the games that were played during that timespan? (This game lasted from Feb 4 to Feb 18. Sparta 1, when were you sitting from?)

Bruceswar and kathleen are cleared of being multis with each other.

As a side note, for Sparta 1 and The Rabbit, I'll this pass, since you've only played 1 game together so far. But you two knowing each other's log in information is now noted.

Thanks for understanding, I didn't realize that I was supposed to mention I was account sitting in the chat. SHould the Rabbit and I refrain from playing against each other from now on, or is it still ok?

(I am not an admin)
1 vs 1 with both winning each a fair share, not a problem to me.
if you 2 play in a 3 player game where the wins usually go one or the other of the both of you, well thats a bad thing.
Play team games with eachother or try to refrain from playing with eachother.

ps as long as you do not get charged with cheating by having an secret alliance you should be fine, but if you get accused, well you got a mark against you. just so you know
