Unlimited games for freemiums - special offer READ INSIDE

i was thinking. how come wilderbeast is allowed to let other people use his account to skip paying for premium? shouldn't this be illegal? shouldn't a ban be imposed?
to be honest i didn't see it in the rules. so i come with the question, shouldn't the rules ban multiple usage of an account to avoid paying multiple premiums?

i mean what's stopping me now from getting 10,20,100 people to use my account for free? certainly not the rules.

what if i pm every active freemium and tell them not to pay 25 bucks because i can offer them unlimited games for free?

That's not a number so that will stop you

But I do agree with you. Freemiums shouldn't be allowed to use a premium's account for more games. Either ban him or strip him of his premium, I think.

The glaringly obvious problem is that you might always get people who will take turns in games they didn't start and others can never be sure just who they're playing exactly. Furthermore, is it even possible to log in from 2 or 3 computers to the same account at once? With 100 people playing games on the same account you are bound to have have overlapping login times.

it seems to be too much of a hassle to go through with it.

yes it is possible if you do some planning.

simply ask any of the users to put a note to self with his name at the start of a game. then if another player logs in he sees whoever plays in that game and simply doesn't take turns there. also they can keep track of their games by keeping a simple note with all the game numbers they are in.

as for the logging thing i can assure you it's possible. from work i log in at the same time from 2 computers and i take my turns or post in forums from any of them depending on what pc i have to work.

the idea is not that i'm risking my points but rather that 100 people can benefit from premium by paying just for 1 account.

Being a freemuim i really don't think its fair to do that. Lackattack puts money and time into he site.

so you can log in with one account and play multiple games on different computers? Am i reading this right?

I`ll bet there will be quite a few people taking liberties now you have let this be known. Surely this is easily remedied though?

yes it can be remedied if they ban the accounts used by multiple people.

I dont see any problem here, these is one accounts, share 10,20 people.
These only problem for these people, not for lack.

I really do not see the issue with this. It is not like the people can cheat or steal points. The only problem might be in the forums with people posting random inappropriate items. Any blatant offensive behavior by an account, regardless of who is operating said account, will most likely result in disciplinary actions.

There are many people on CC that let their friends and family use their account , most of them do not advertise it.
I let my GF use my account b4 she got her own. By letting her use my account for games, I actually brought another paying member into the CC fold.
Besides how can you make a rule that only the person who created the account can use it, and realistically enforce it .
IP addresses are misleading, I personally have accessed this site from many different comps. I know that many people access CC from different IP 's then the one they signed up with.So allowing access only from the IP you signed up from would not be realistic. And even if you did manage to create a rule that only allowed you to use the account from the original address, how would you be sure that only the person on the account name is the operator? Not to mention the plague of multis this would create. ( I will not elaborate, seems obvious)

Sounds to me that people are going out of their way, to find problems with
another persons business.
The person in question seems to be getting harassed in these forums as of late. I am thinking that perhaps the person is simply trying to get you riled up, and is posting a bunch of BS . If that is what they are doing , my hat is off to them, It obviously worked.,
:P 8)

what do you mean not a problem? if more people use just 1 account it to avoid paying for premium it means lack loses money and hence CC dies.

in theory instead of 21000 active users we could have just 8 premium accounts and on each account play 2625 people.

8 premiums * 25$ = 200$ per year for lack. hmm the wheels on his ferrari cost 100 times more than that.

obviously wilderbeast doesn't have more people using his account that's just his way of pretending to be the greatest player ever. but this is indeed a problem. an account should be used by 1 person and 1 person only. account sharing is bad because it reduces the number of paying members.
as for the points, hmm i doubt it would matter for many people. i'm sure i can find at least 100 fremiums to share my account with them and they wouldn't care about points they'd be glad they can play a lot.

as for detection methods, they do exist

exactly.

not to mention real money can be made out of this.

in some countries paypal is not available and credit cards are hard to get so a person that has this possibility could simply charge 5 dollars and give out his pass to friends. get 10 friends and you got yourself a 25$ profit.

If you look in these way, then i can sell time in mine computer to 10,20 person to play risk with mine account, and in mine computer, and nobody can discover these.

actually it can be discovered. that's why i want this to be stopped. 1 account = 1 person. not more.

You are only thinking about it from a limited perspective. Multiple people using the same premium account deprives lack of membership income. Which is bad for lack because he loses money, and bad for all of us, because it reduces the funds available for lack to invest and improve the site even further.

It is also unfair for the honest freemiums out there who are limited to 4 games each for free.

DiM, thank you as always for your creative public awareness campaign :)

You posted this in the wrong place. This is more of a cheating/abuse topic than a GD, I've moved it for you.

Now, the problem is from our side and our side only seeing as the only people it really affects (other than the seeming schizophrenia of the account being shared) is Lack and his accountant.

Now, we know these accounts exist. For some it is a matter of not being able to afford extra accounts, some are families who don't want kids having their own account for supervising reasons, etc etc. For most people this would be more trouble than it is worth because while, yes, you get all the games, you lose the score, feedback, PM and posting features we have on this site - you can't use them because they aren't "you" and so they are meaningless.

If you want to let 100 people into your account to ruin your reputation, score and posts, feel free. I'd enjoy watching the fallout :)

Now, let me be very clear
If any one of the people sharing that account ever signs up for another account we will bust both accounts, and anyone who plays on the accounts, as multis faster than they can say "oh poopoo"
You are allowed one and only one account. If you share your account with someone you better be sure they don't want, and don't have, their own account because you will lose yours if they try to make their own. We wont risk you using them as multis and trying to weasel out with the "but he's my room mate" excuse ;)

Hope that answers that.

Have a good one
