Thanks for the original reply, but the problem persists: after I press any button (attack, fortify, open a game, etc etc) I get shown a page: "You need to log in to see this page" (although I am logged in). If I log in again, it sometimes lets me make ONE move, then shows me the "You need to log in" page again.

Wow, wicked shut down one of the accounts, can't you read? I would have to say this is closed. And you should have kept reading.
