Wilderbeast, KenKennedy, CrimsonDeath [Cleared]

Postby Genghis Khan CA on Tue Nov 13, 2007 10:22 pm

These are suspected Multis??? or possibly anti-multis? :?

Suspect users: Wilderbeast, KenKennedy, CrimsonDeath

Game number: n/a

Comments: There are a couple of issues with this guy...

1) Obviously his stories about roommates playing on his account and him having a 95% win record are complete nonsense http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=32912.

Nonetheless, since he insists that this is the case I would like a mod to rule on the legality of such an arrangement. Is it legal for multiple players to play under one premium account? Since he claims to have 5 roommates playing on his account, if this was the case it would effectively entitle 5 players to get unlimited games for the price of one premium account. Is this any different to a non-premium player who creates multis to play more than 4 games at a time?

2) KenKennedy, a player who has never played a game on the site made a post in support of Wilderbeast, his only post on the site. It may be worth checking if he is a multi account?

3) Likewise, CrimsonDeath has posted in the thread claiming he now plays under the Wilderbeast account. May be worth checking if he is a multi account also.

Personally I think this guys claims are complete rubbish, but I think it serves a useful purpose to investigate as a test case for whether more than one player can play under the same premium account.

I've played Wilderbeast, the real one, twice now. I have also played one of his roommates. While I believe the "real" "beast" does have such a high win record, his room mates are not nearly as good.

Dunno if this'll account for anything that matters. I'd like to toss it out there.

hello one and all. I have messaged wicked pledging complete and utter compliance with any investigations.

Crimson Aces and selma had already been accused of multiing (i myself have been implicated in the accusation) a long time ago and were found innocent. For that reason they were apologized to and just asked to avoid playing in games with each other and others until the accusations calmed down.

Now this long later... So many people have said: "Beast why are your room-mates not using their own accounts? Its free! Why dont they use their own accounts?" now its obvious why.

Because we all play from the same computer the accusations will come, no matter how confidantly I've been told: "Oh myself and my friend play from the same computer, its not against the rules they can still have their own accounts" I am sure accusations will fly.

KenKennedy is an exchange student that has yet to play any games but yes, got involved in forum chat early. He is only used to playing risk on finalconquest.com where you merely click on the countries and the men are added. So he was confused when he saw dropdown lists and no games available for him to join on the opening page.

However he was able to find his way around in the forum (which is pretty similar to all forum outlines) and so naturally he posted there.

Crimson lol poor crimson, this is the 2nd time he's been accused, he's as innocent now as he was then and yet when the community alienates him to hell and back again he'll probably just play a game or 2 in my account because it'll be the only way he can enjoy the CC website. (PS: Selma has moved on to bigger and greater things in life and if she has continued to play it hasnt been on this account)

Think about it, if you accuse him of being a multi because he plays from the same computer as others, he cant play, so when he plays under my account, you tell him he doesnt exist and is a character of "fiction".

There are such a wide variety of stories going on here its not funny.

I've done so much damage control via numerous pm's and some posts in the Wilderbeast flame wars page. But what it boils down to is 4 of us room-mates who have played on my account. An exchange student I've introduced to the game had gotten his own account 1 day and so one of my room-mates said: "Well, he's gonna be playing from our computer anyway, so if "Wilderbeast" and "Kenkennedy" are playing from the same computer, I'll get my own account as well and stop playing under beast's."

CrimsonDeath however has refused to play games on his account again until he's confidant he wont be accused of multiing, he even pulled himself out of a challenge until further notice.

There is no multiing going on here. No cheating, no secret alliances. We treat each other as any other member of CC and with nothing to hide we plan on cooperating with any mods for the investigation. I trust we'll be found innocent as we were before and that hopefully this time my room-mates can continue to play as normal.

Yes, I originally made a mistake in May and blocked CrimsonDeath, Aces, Selma, and wilderbeast. The next day I changed my mind and cleared them, but I understand that you guys have suffered through the residual effects of being suspected cheaters.

wilderbeast: Thank you for your excellent explanation, and for staying reasonable instead of becoming overly defensive as most players do. I hope you don't take Genghis Khan's accusation personally, because he is a very understanding guy and I bet he can see where you are coming from now that you responded. He has a brother on this site and I'm sure faces the same accusations from time to time that you do.

All names in question are cleared of being multis.

As for multiple people sharing a premium account: It's a pretty unique situation, I think I only encountered it once before. As far as I know there is no official ruling on whether thats allowed. We would prefer that each player has their own account because sharing can lead to confusing situations like this one. To be honest though, I can't see any way to enforce such a rule. And since the "real" wilderbeast and others are sharing an account to avoid being accused of cheating (and not the more sinister motive of playing more free games) I see no problems with it. I would just like to ask CrimsonDeath and any others who are sharing the wilderbeast account to only play 4 games at a time as you would normally be restricted to. Playing more than 4 games would be taking advantage of me trying to help you guys, so I'd like to believe you can be trusted in that regard.

To be honest, I am glad that I have no roommates/family/friends that play on this site. I've had to defend myself from secret alliance allegations with a person I have never met or talked to in any form other than game chat and forum posts. So I know how frustrating such a situation can be, and it would be much harder if you were actually sharing a computer!

So while we allow people from the same computer to play games together, I never recommend it if the person is worried about cheating accusations. The unfortunate truth is that people who need to share a computer have a very difficult time proving that they are honest because there are so many people who are willing to cheat.

Thanks again for being understand wilderbeast, and thanks for the detailed report GKCA. Reporting and clearing people is one of the principle functions of this forum.

Man I'm wordy tonight!!

Thanks again for a prompt settling to the issue sully and its nice to hear from you again. We've really godda find more amicable circumstances to talk hehe.

Any games played by my room-mates on my account will be limited to 4. I will be strictly enforcing this issue myself 4 games at a time. They will be required to write down the game #s next to their name and announce their name in the game itself. When they enter 4 games there will be 4 listed games next to their name on a sheet.

This is also easily varifiable by any member of the CC community questioning as should they ever see more than 4 active games with the wilderbeast account and player X's name on it, they will know player X is playing more than 4 games at once.

Accountability is difficult however important for me as well as the mods here who have to do what they can for the community as a whole.

I should note because I can imagine the question popping up... (and I will do regular checks myself because my games played have gone down a bit as I have become busier)...

Should at ANY point a room-mate be found playing a game on the Wilderbeast account AND with their account (this should never happen but in the event that it does) said room-mate will not be allowed to play CC again, very likely as well that I will change my pw and all room-mates will be blocked off from my account whether or not they have one of their own.

If you have any questions regarding any of my room-mates on my account or whatnot do message me I will be reading my pm's and will gladly clear up any issues. We're not cheaters here.
