He is not in our game, but comes in starts saying obscene things in chat.

Suspect users: billydigital

Game number: http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=1064257

Comments: Of course I'm going to put him on ignore, however he should still be dealt with by the admins.

I'm in a game he's doing this to so it affects me -- so it's my problem to report, too. I wasn't aware of the other thread until after posting mine, and it appears he did it after being warned.

What a bitch... Ignore him, bro.

Is there more than one game he's done this in?

For now our ignore list doesn't filter out people who aren't in your game, but we're seeing if we can fix that.

It seems he likes to go and talk shit to people in games he's not even in. In these cases, we can't even leave negative feedback for it. I'm still unsure if it would be right to give his friends a negative since it's always in their games.

no warning for the issue.

My warning, as per mods, was because I said something "flamish" in the non-flame wars thread. How others can do it routinely even after several warnings is beyond me.

That would be because the mods like us more than they like you

how you can think you can flamebait and appear innocent is beyond me.

To Flame bait is as bad or worse than Flaming. At least Flamers have something resembling a spine.

Albeit, a pathetically weak one.

OK I've reviewed the links provided and haven't seen anything thing over the top, or excessively vulgar, and it's usually just a line or two. So for now, I think the ignore list will be the best option. If it gets worse, let us know.

2007-11-06 11:38:03 - billydigital: doggie has zero skills, except gay sex
2007-11-07 07:34:20 - billydigital: doggie likes it rough from guys

Please explain to me your definition of over the top and excessively vulgar. Or does this site pander to the sophmoric and college age "I'm free to say what I want, you choose to be offended" mindset of moral equivalence?

Here you have someone entering a game they are not part of and making statements intended to belittle or harass someone because of sexual preference. What if Hotdoggie is actually gay and found the words to be a hate speech attack?

Really, keep running the site this way and you will insure that your customer window is narrow indeed. There are a lot of people who lead mature, adult lives that don't want to hang out in a cesspool of expression.

Wouldn't anything towards Hottdoggie be concidered a "Hate" speech attack? He doesn't like him/her........let's get past the "politically correct" retorick.

This is just like the radio.....If you don't like what's being played because of what's being said.....change the channel or turn the radio off. You can do this via the "ignore list". If I like Rap and you like the christian religion station doesn't mean you have the right to say the "rap" station should be taken off the air.......mind your business!

It's OK if you want to take the time to read what I wrote again and edit your reply. Oh no, wait, I quoted you so never mind.

You need to do a couple things:

1. Realize you are already addressed in my post:
Or does this site pander to the sophmoric and college age "I'm free to say what I want, you choose to be offended" mindset of moral equivalence?

The first step toward solving a problem is admitting you have one.

2. Understand the discussion before you contribute. Look at the context of the discussion. This is about someone coming into a game they are not part of, it is not about seeing an post in a public area that I choose to visit, it is about someone coming into an area and making offensive statements I am guaranteed to see. The game is my business, the forum is not.

If you're going to use analogy's, make sure you use ones that make sense.

Radio is censored.

He also missed this small point:
Somebody likes the Christian religion station, so that's what they listen to (say, this person game chat). The rap station doesn't suddenly pop in at random intervals while you're listening to the religion station (billydigital saying vulgar things in game chat) now, does it?

It doesn't, but you have a way to prevent billydigital from popping into your gamechat. Both are bad examples and we just shouldn't try to compare douchebaggery with anything real life related.

Not really. You have a way to not see what he says, but he can still come in and say nasty things about you which other players will see. The fact of the matter is, he shouldn't be going into said game chats and saying such nasty things about people repeatedly.
