Riskingit all & Maj. Tom [ka]

Accused:

Riskingit all
Maj. Tom

The accused are suspected of:

Being Multis
Conducting Secret Diplomacy

Game number(s):

Game 21431048

Comments:
- Us three were left in the game. Maj. Tom was the strongest by far. Maj. Tom kept breaking/attacking Riskingit all. Riskingit all kept breaking/attacking me. I asked Riskingit all if he wanted to work together against Maj. Tom. Riskingit all did not respond at all and continued attacking me, giving Maj. Tom many rounds to grow without being attacked (I was busy defending against Riskingit all so I didn't attack him either). I thought this was suspicious and checked to see if these two had played together before. They've played with each other in 13 games so far. I therefore suspect they are multis, or at least conducting secret diplomacy.

Additionally, when I called them out, Maj. Tom re-arranged his troops in a way that looks like he's about to suicide against me (see photo attached).

Thanks

Problem 1: Maj Tom has won two of the 10 games they've finished. Right in line w his overall win %.

Problem 2: 13 games together when one of them has played almost 2000 and the other a few hundred is not a major chunk of games.

Problem 3: riskingit all is not a very good player so, any weird/terrible move by them is likely just that - a weird and terrible move.

Problem 4: You did spend the whole game trying to manipulate them - your name is machiavelli after all. maybe change your name to "iamanidiot" or something so it isn't so on the nose.

Problem 5: The game isn't over. What if you end up winning it?

All very fair points. Especially on my username. I made it when I was a kid... when I really was an idiot.

I felt compelled to submit this because I felt at the time like it was probable something funny was going on. But the way you put it, I agree with you.

I'll still look into it, but i think NSS has done the research already.. I'll have a quick double check to be sure though

PENDING

Machiavelli39 tried to manipulate a lesser experienced player into teaming up against me when it was an even game with just the three of us left.
I called out Machiavelli39 on what i view as unsporting behaviour and manipulation.
I expect riskingitall also saw through it so didn't play along with Machiavelli39's wishes.
At no point in this game have i been been "by far the strongest player" - if I was then I would have expected to have won the game by now if all the attacks were going Machiavelli39's way as he makes out.
I also see from Machiavelli39's post history that this is his 3rd unfounded accusation of cheating, not a great look for a player with only 155 completed games - maybe it's about time he was booted off conquerclub?

- I'm less experienced than both of you, particularly in amount of games played as you pointed out
- None of the 3 accusations I've made in over a 12 year period were frivolous or done in bad faith. There were reasons, and the moderators acknowledged them if you actually read the posts
- The reasons why I made this post and requested someone to check if you two were the same is explained above in my post.

I don't think it's appropriate for us to bicker in this post, but I had to respond.

Hi All,

What i find most impressive is if you have been here 12 years (i assume from the above) and only 155 completed games. Do you take a daily pill to prevent the addiction? I need that pill.

Cheers

Interesting isn't it. My guess is 12 years of free play while accusing people of cheating and wasting all your time :D

people have the right to inquire if they think something isn't right. that's the purpose of this forum. get over it.

That's nice but I see zero merit in this report. do you?
Maybe we should all jump to conclusions and report for cheating when our manipulation attempt backfires

Someone Machiavellian is sneaky, cunning, and lacking a moral code. The word comes from the Italian philosopher Niccolò Machiavelli, who wrote the political treatise The Prince in the 1500s, that encourages “the end justifies the means” behavior, especially among politicians.

Machiavellian describes fans of Machiavelli, the Renaissance philosopher who wrote things like “It is much safer to be feared than loved” and “If an injury has to be done to a man it should be so severe that his vengeance need not be feared.” Modern psychiatrists even use it to describe a kind of personality disorder, a cold selfishness. When Machiavelli's first works were published, they were seen by some to be dangerous and amoral, and the word Machiavellian was coined.

Just relax man. I inquired, I had reason, you disagree with my reason, if you're clean then you're vindicated and I'm satisfied.

I love the game of risk specifically for its diplomacy. If I'm being honest, a majority of the players on here are either dead silent and just grind games or are just not willing to engage in diplomacy. Playing the game without diplomacy is just not interesting to me. I jumped back on here after a long hiatus to see if I could have an entertaining, diplomacy driven game. But no dice. All good.

Interesting. You've got a way better handle on Machiavelli than I do, that's for sure.

I highly suggest you leave the 39 alone. Just turn around and walk away my friend.

You ever try Baltic Crusades? 5-6 player games there are rather rife with diplomacy, back stabbing and all the enjoyable things that come with it.

I've never tried it. Thanks for the recommendation! Sounds right up my alley.

After looking at the game, I will have to agree that there is no secret diplomacy between the accused. Since it's a 3 player game now, one typically will feel 'cheated' when he becomes the weakest or gets more attacks from the other two at a time. The weakest player is now 'untouchable' and you must only attack the people who is in the lead. You are compelled to provide a valid reason to explain your assaults or else you will likely get reported for cheating. This is not new and this report is cleared for secret alliance.
