Comments: Abuse of pop ups for non-membership players
I have been a long time membership holder for many many years.
The past couple years I have played a limited amount of games do to
being to busy in life at this time. I play a few games with my clan as its the amount of time
I have available.

There are these pop ups you have to click off when moving from page to page as a non-membership player.
They use to be normal pops ups where you click on the X at the top right of the box to exit.

Well......
The site decided to move the exit spot to the lower corner of the box in a different manner than
99.9% of the internet wide pop ups that happen from site to site. Were you click the X to make the pop up disappear.

So now if you auto click on the top right area were the X is normally,
It takes you to the site that is being advertised.
To me this is a shady way of getting click counts for the website so they can get paid.
Shame Shame

I am currently freemium and not getting popups. This does sound like malware. You should run a scan on your computer to make absolutely sure.

While freemie, I never get pop ups on CC. Just the regular banner ads from Google.

EDIT: Okay, just got a pop-up for scam app "Clean My Mac" alright, but it was a Google Ad, so nothing sinister. It's an ad that I see everywhere, as a mac user. It's just aggressive marketing toward green mac users to get them into software that they don't actually need.

I do still think that yours sounds like malware though.

Please heed the advises regarding the checking of malware and virus on your computer. One way to also confirm this is if you use a different pc to check if you will get the same issues or even ask a sitter to take turns for you so he can observe if he will also get what you are experiencing from your account. You can also use Google to check what you are getting from your pc.

This reminds me of a story of a school governor that was outraged by the school website having ads promoting porn websites when it turned out it was a tracking cookie on his own pc that was displaying them just to him based on his own browsing activity, he quickly resigned,
