Other: Literally holding me hostage round after round. Pardon the language in game chat but he is being a complete asshole instead of ending the game rounds ago.

just a little D.A. but the first time, homeboy was hidden behind a neutral and if you give benefit of the doubt - he could have been making sure when he came through that neutral there wasn't something waiting for him. when boobird started being a dick in chat, my guess would be codfish decided to be a dick in game. not excusing either behavior but i don't think one helped the other, if you know what i'm saying.

side note, cod, how come games don't ever go like that when we team up?

Great theory, except it is NOT fog, and he has been doing it for rounds including taking out neutrals instead of finishing me, which is why I spoke up. He has had me outnumbered as much as 65 to 1 and could have taken out my 5 singles in one turn, so no, he is not worried about running into a hidden stack and no, he is did not just start holding me hostage after I said something.

Maybe the chap has some crap going on in his life which he uses cc to vent his anger, who knows... His language was unnecessary and i have done nothing wrong. I am very happy to resolve the issue over lunch and a cold beer, i want so much to be real good friends.

Everyone can take one look at that game and see that at 75 men to 1 this game was over rounds ago, even with you attacking all of the neutrals. Mods can check the game logs and see you are lying here and could have won several rounds ago. You said it yourself, if you are going to act like a prick then you should be treated as such, which is why I called you out for it. Don't break the rules, and yes, holding someone hostage is breaking the rules, and you won't get treated as such. Oh yeah and Prick, suck on that loss in the Escalating Extravaganza Tournament, I know that is why you are so bitter.

You could argue the accused is a huge dick but is this really holding hostage with such a low round count in the game at the time of the post? Even now it's round 9...

Seems to me like FAMO. I would be mad as well. Not sure this is holding hostage.

I don't think this is a hostage game. He did attack you in most rounds. He took his time. Could he have finished the game sooner? He probably could have.

I am going to NOTE this because I think he did drag it out. I am also going to NOTE this for b00060 for game throwing. In my opinion b00060 didn't make any attempt to win this game.

With the way the dice are on this site I would think you would have given it a try. At least for the first round or two. I know we all have had games that we thought we had a sure win or loss and the outcome turned out the opposite.

Let's break down the ruling. Keep in mind that no WARNINGS were issued, but two NOTES were given.

1. Holding Hostage generally happens with a very long round count of the game being unable to end when it should have been. I had a previous ruling where the accused was banned for one month in the end for holding me hostage for 35 rounds in a 50 round game. A game that completed with 10 rounds hardly constitutes holding someone hostage, unless they got dropped all territories except for the one that you were on on Round 1 (which can't happen). You stopped taking territories after round 8, so there are only 2 rounds until the game ended that you were not able to make a valid attack. You have a strong argument that cod is a dick but besides that nothing else.

2. Game throwing generally happens when a player makes no attempt to actually play the game. In the game mentioned in this report, you never once attacked the other player (according to the game log). You, on multiple occasions, took the Resetting Neutrals and deployed on adjacent territories to them. You can make an argument that it was tactical to have these resetting neutrals in the game but you can also make the argument that you never attempted to actually play the game.

Again, no warnings were given. So there is really no need to freak out here. Just take this as a learning lesson and apply that to further encounters you have in the future.

I hope this clarifies the ruling.
