So this guy deadbeats out of a bunch of fog trench speed games that he's playing with you, probably out of courtesy to reduce the amount of time you'll have to spend mopping him up, and your response is to report him?

1) except the 1st one, it wasn't against me.
2) in the 1st one he could have resign, saving me much more time. There is half of the games in the OP that was after round 10, thus deadbeating doesn't save time, resign option is available.3
3) even if resign option isn't available ( before round 10), deadbeating is still forbidden (and often longer than playing till elimination or round 10 to resign but doesn't matter).

That was before resigning was an option, and players still got punished for it, which is ridiculous.

It’s either punishable or it’s not. So if he’s going to report a bunch of people for deadbeating like he used to, then he should add himself to the OP.

I agree it's fairly hypocritical, and I also think that punishing people for deadbeating lost speed games when agreed with the opponent was stupid. However, since we now have the resign button there is no need to deadbeat the games. The distinction comes on whether you think deadbeating before the resign button was okay (I did, and Don did too), whereas now there's no benefit in it.

There's a benefit of not being forced to participate in your own execution.

Does council even know the resign button exists? The only people who would are the ones who pay a lot of attention to the forums, including GD and Suggestions. People who don't will only know if they've been paying enough attention to their game panel to see the resign button appear, which I'm guessing a fair few won't have. From my memory I don't think the button's that in-your-face.

CC is good at communicating about monthly events and the fact it's not Risk so please don't sue us, but changes to functionality tend to be a lot less trumpeted.

The last may be true, but this particular change was announced and headlined.

The announcement was made more than a year ago:
https://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=634&t=222020#p4903803

I kept it in the Announcements forum for nine months just in case there were any late adopters who hadn't read it yet. ](*,)
