Owenshooter: Flagrant Violations of Community Guidelines

Postby ariskocrat on Wed Sep 16, 2015 3:13 pm

Accused:

Owenshooter

The accused are suspected of:

Repeated Flagrant Violations of Conquer Club's Community Guidelines

Community Guidelines:

"Don't be intentionally annoying"
"Common sense prevails - if you are intentionally or continually making this community less enjoyable for others, you're going to be removed from it. It's that simple. This applies to any part of the site where interaction takes place; in Forums, Private Messages, Live Chat and Game Chat."

Owen is among the worst of a group of individuals that make this site less enjoyable for others.

[*]He trolls global (as he has done for the better part of the last two days)
[*]He belittle mods. He constantly posts and undermines C&A mods and you could speak to the chat mods he constantly made fun of while they posted about the recent trivia events in global.
KA has specifically challenged him on this:
Owen trying to be a mod.png

[*]He talks down to people that don't know how to link games or makes C&A reports rather than offering constructive criticism. He does not say "check out the '?' below to learn how to link your games", he makes remarks like nobody cares to look at your game if you can't link it properly. He constantly says that people's reports are incorrect and not worth his or the mods time if they can't learn to do it right. New users who don't know how to use the site properly and are perceiving unfair activities don't need the additional push of an angry C&A troll to get them off the site.

This singular global chat message is incredibly offensive to me and violates the live chat guidelines below (which I include the forum guidelines to incorporate the site's definitions of trolling and flaming). Owen is referencing personal information posted by /u/Kallysdead about a prior suicide attempt. As Owen brought up in his own C&A complaint about Kallysdead, he agrees that he and another user may have trolled Kallysdead, but Kallysdead response was the only real rule violation. However, to post such an inflammatory remark both after sharing concern for Kallysdead's mental and psychological well-being and making a C&A report about Kallysdead's response, must surely violate CC's Community Guidelines against being intentionally annoying in terms of common sense and probably rises to the level of harassment or cyber bullying.

If he has concerns about someone's mental or psychological well-being, he should have the common sense to let it be. Make a report if he needs repeated messaging to stop, but to continue to flame after resorting to a C&A report is unconscionable.

Live Chat Guidelines
Flaming: Will not be tolerated.

Forum Guidelines
Trolling
•Posting controversial or irrelevant messages or topics with the intent to provoke someone else into a contest of over-manly confrontation, emotional response, flame fest or to generally disrupt the discussion, community or user is not cool. Prompting or provoking others (Baiting) to do that is just as bad.
•Don't Bait or provoke others. Just because you didn't directly attack another user does not make your post a meaningful contribution. If your post's intent was to provoke another user into an emotional response, to get under their skin or to otherwise piss them off, you're baiting them. Hopefully the user doesn't take the bait, but you'll probably receive a disciplinary action from a mod.
•Don't ever post personal information of other users. Anywhere. Ever. Even if they already posted it somewhere else. This includes posting personal information about a CC user on another site, you will be held accountable here

Flaming
•It doesn't matter if another user rubs you the wrong way, that's not an excuse to flame or personally attack them.
•Attacking a person instead of the user is NOT ok - it's all fun and games until it becomes personal.
â—¦Using a person's real information, picture, address, blog or anything else "personal" is NOT ok, and is Personal Information Abuse

Cyber-bullying or harassment will similarly result in a disciplinary action, and a ton of bricks

I could spend hours drudging up C&A reports where Owen belittles forum posters. I don't have the countless times he has trolled and flamed people in global chat. But an internal discussion from C&A and chat mods and many high traffic users on this site will likely reach one conclusion: If you use common sense, it is plain to see that Owenshooter is intentionally annoying to the users of this site to the point of being a detriment to global chat and C&A forums.

It's a pattern of behavior that was well-known 7 years ago, as former mod Twill could confirm.

And warnings apparently don't have long-lasting effects.

I suggest a long-term ban to send a message that this despicable behavior won't be tolerated.

Here he is, still directly engaging and trying to annoy the person he successfully trolled.... errr... his "abuser".

This is a joke right?

You should get a vacation for filing this spurious report and wasting everyone's time.

spurious? hardly...
to be fair, Owen IS helpful to the new guys in GC with linking games and pointing them here or there. everything else 'crat posted is spot on. i think the guy could use a nice, long vacation from CC. maybe he'll come back a kindler, gentler black bed bug. maybe...

You say it is spurious, but clearly his posts and actions are in clear violation of the highest order of community guidelines. Do not intentionally annoy. Use common sense. These are the rules and I expect the mods to hold Owenshooter accountable under their own guidelines. If these guidelines are not actually intended to be enforced, I encourage CC to take them down or otherwise alter them and I will apologize for a report of violations not intended to be followed. However, under the letter of CC's own guidelines, Owen is due for some kind of intervention.

It is only fair that someone who uses intricate knowledge of CC's rules to push the boundaries and persecute others is held to CC's own proclaimed standards of conduct.

That is why you make your own report, which you did, and post the details here. Instead of posting them there, which isn't a report about owen.

As a former Multi Hunter, nothing was more annoying then coming into a thread and finding people trying to fling mud at the poster when they had a clearly legit report.

Demonfork: Clearly, that is for the mods to decide.

TheForgivenOne: This is a report about Owen... You may want to head to the other thread and engage in whether context is important to a flaming/spamming report there.

This is locked and closed.

Remember that the Foe option is always there and ready to be utilized anytime. If you choose not to use the Foe option and still engage people who you have an issue with, that is your personal choice but also be aware that you are also partly accountable on how or where all of this will lead into. Keep on engaging the other person in pointing out how he is wrong, and he does the same, it's a no-win situation for everyone. There is a high probability that it would end up that people will blame us for everything in the end.

When you have an issue about someone's post in the forum, go to that particular forum post, look a bit to the right and find that upside down triangle with an exclamation mark inside - click on it to make a report. Don't do it like this and generalize that the person has trolled or flamed, etc. many times in the forums. People can easily make "revenge" reports and claim anyone as equally annoying.

As for any Global or Live Chat violations, contact any Chat moderators and go from there. If you have an issue with the Chat mod you contacted, feel free to contact the head Chat Moderator and see if you can settle all your concerns regarding your Chat issues. If there is still an issue with the Head Chat Mod, then you can bring it to us only by then.
