Accused:

Donelladan

The accused are suspected of:
Intentional Deadbeating

Game number(s):

Game 15797998
Game 15792238
Game 15773644
Game 15773446
Game 15773083
Game 15771109

Comments: This is a stupid report, and I hate to do this but Don opened a can of worms when reporting me for standard practice of forfeiting Trench games when the outcome is inevitable, and here he is doing the same. If I get a warning/ban, he, and every other trench player should also get the same. Expect a plethora of C&A reports in the coming days.

I agree. This is stupid, but Don got the ball rolling, and now it will be an avalanche.

he got the ball rolling or you did? you started reporting jacobsgold for doing something everybody does in trench speed games, yourself included. Pretty hypocritical in my books. Trench speed needs a resign button when certain conditions are met; sounds like the best thing to do (a certain % of terts, drop and troops that could be discussed)

Betiko, Are you once again forgetting the 3 player game he forfeited that cost you the game, and then you went on to curse him and foe him?

Game 15505775

If you have something to add to the JG post, go ahead. If you have something to add to the Btown80 thread, go ahead. This is the Don thread, and if you have something to add to this, that's fine too, but please stay on topic.

Thanks!! :-$

Are you saying that you are allowed to make direct references to your thread, and the jacobsgold thread but I m not and I need your permission?
Whatever dude, we all agree that this is getting silly. People deadbeat in speed game all the time. Jacobsgold got punished, i m fine with that but i d like to know where mods draw the line there.

You are right, it is very silly, but my hand is being forced. I'm up for a ban/warning, so every other trench player should be as well.

And thus we return. Everyone who breaks the speed limit should receive a ticket.

Crazy, both reports!

Soooo, its clear that the C & A team "convicted" this situation for intentional deadbeating. Also clear that its a really controversial decision but so be it. However this gets to escalate now, as the C & A team really can't not give infractions for this. So any number of threads will pop up in a retaliatory fashion, like a rock rolling down a hill.

King A makes a solid argument that this is the verdict and if you don't agree with it do not play those settings, kudos to you KA! Nice that someone gives a concrete rationale and stands behind it. But this leaves the door open for all the people playing those settings over the last period of time to be reported for intentional deadbeating when they most likely thought that was the approved or polite way to end the game.

Perhaps either the admin group should lock this into a "This is a rule going forward" or at minimum there should be a communication clarifying that while intentional deadbeating has always been a rules violation it is being enforced now so be aware... Just hate to see items which annoy players and potentially add fuel to the fire for less activity.

Apologies to btown and donelladan if they don't feel this is on topic for this thread, it is meant to be although its a somewhat sideways path.

TeeGee is planning to rewrite the rules to the site, and this is one of the items which will be raised. Hopefully sooner rather than later, but cant demand that from volunteers.

Plz add me as well then. I have deadbeat trench games. But Am also properly more experienced than most of the site on this setting.I say this Because I WAS part of aa tourney which was this setting before it was added. And we played it for 2 years on gentleman's honour. So yes even though I stay quite in the forums I will voice up at pathetic reports like this one and dons one.a.d js one if it evolves around trench only. This is like a play ground and all that is gonna happen is you kids are going to ruin it for all. Grow up reverse your claims and let everyone enjoy the setting and game play.

Ps may I also add the ollie thread because aa tourney was also a point tourney. But we all had a understanding that people would throw single games but it was to help them overall. This is where the site is going downhill to many people like to quote the rules for what they say, apart from the common sense prevails part.

All great thoughts. What becomes s reasonable acceotable deadbeat, what is not? My initial post was because I felt a player was definitely absing the system and deadbeating every opportunity.

Stop playing the victim with all the "my hand has been forced" bullshit because nobody's buying it. You did this out of spite, end of. I feel sorry for the C&A mods, and I'm eagerly awaiting my thread.

Please stop making a circus out of the C&A forum. I know some of you insist that deadbeating is the only way to end a lost cause in poly trench games and you think that it should be the norm because some of you have already been doing it for some time. I have no qualms if both parties are okay with it and neither of the players is complaining about the game. Nevertheless, that still does not mean this system of intentional deadbeating is condoned. It is still in the rules not to intentionally deadbeat and definitely no one should make a habit out of it. The player has his rights to make a report if the other player is deadbeating intentionally.

If both players involved are fine with one leaving the poly trench game, then we'll consider it a closed case. However, if one party does not approve of the intentional deadbeating, then the other player must play the game. If you give out reasons like you suddenly lost connection coincidentally when you were losing, this is highly questionable and will not be accepted. Just play the game out and lose graciously. The game is not only about you so let's also respect the people we are playing with regardless of how the game is set.

This is an isolated case and not a precedent. I will consider this matter closed as well as the other report.

Then let me say, jacobsgold was not losing against btown80 when he start deadbeating. That is the exact reason why btown80 did report jacobsgold.
So yes jacobsgold very probably lost connection because he didn't have any other reason to deadbeat !! I've been saying it all along.

I've said many times, my single game against JG was not the only reason I opened the thread. There were many other causes.

I've had my fill of these threads. I'm out. Don, hope to play you down the road sometime.

You're missing the point. Don is pointing out the fact that jacobsgold has a bad internet connection and that is why, perhaps not every time, he ends up deadbeating. Why else would you deadbeat a game you're going to win?

jacobsgold misses turns in games where he shows up again because of conection issues or just disapears in games where he still has a shot due to connection. This is a fact. He also has a high tendency to deadbeat on purpose. I'd say that 75% of his missed turns are on purpose the rest due to connection problems. That is all I was saying about that guy.

ps: I think it's ok to DB speed trench but poly trench is n absolute pain in the ass. that could mean like 5x4x3= 1 hour of deadbeating on a poly quads 5 minutes... very disrespectful for the guy winning unless it's absolutely agreed.

I don't play poly trench games, however, I lose my internet connection regularly during speed games. I lose it often enough when I'm already losing the game, other times it causes me the lose the game.

I object to calling this issue "highly questionable"!
