Could be along the lines of what UC did, but the opposite: finishing off losing games quickly, and winning games after all the losing games were finished.

Haven't checked. Not point dumping, but point manipulation.

Now it looks like the accused is now a major with over 2000 points. It does seem odd that this correlates with it being the start of a new month and that there was such a rapid loss of points and then such a rapid resurgence.

he was a captain when i joined his games. he went down to 599 points, then up to 2053 in a day. lmao! he stalled his games he was winning, lost all the other ones quickly, and is manipulating the system. here comes a point reset...

I think we need more proof other than the irregular fluctuation of his score.

Can anyone put in the games that you can say he played to intentionally lose?
and then those games where his opponents gave the game to him so he can win?

Or at least provide even a few games where you suspect that he stalled the game and quickly played the games where he was losing, and if there were any collusion between players.

hi every one,

As you have already been a victim of heavy point loos from a low ranked player, I came up with this idea of sequencing my losses from high ranked players to low ranked players to avoid this, and similarly sequencing my wins from low ranked players to high ranked players.

Nooruddin could you please elaborate on the method of sequencing that you used? For example did you categorize your games into games that were a likely win against games that were likely a loss. Thereby you finish the games that are a likely loss first and then finish the games that are a likely win. It is just a very peculiar situation to see such a wide point fluctuation over such a relatively sort period of time.

Hi,

i usually play classic open for every one.
so most of my opponents are low ranked players to whom I had lost so many points in past.

sequencing my losses and wins means, say if i have 50 active games. after first/second round I get the feel of which game im gonna lose and which im gonna win. So the thing is I play out all games but giving priority to my losing games with higher ranked players to avoid getting ripped off of too much points (50+) from very low ranked players. eventually my rank gets lower and lower smoothly. It doesnt mean that I dont win games in meanwhile. but the win to loose ratio is low, eventually what is left is that say i finished 30 losing games and then in last 20 games, i have 18 winning games, which will boost my rank.
And I should also mention that in the last 18 winning games, I start finishing off from low ranked players to avoid ripping too much score from high ranked opponents.

here is link to such a game.
http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=15290450

Also I have two active winning games with the ronc8649 who accused me of point dumping etc, but i waited till i finish games with low ranked players first so ronc8649 may not suffer from too much points loss.

here are the games with ronc8649
http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=15290427
http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=15290444

If you think it is illegal please let me know, so I will not do this in future.

Nooruddin

I don't see any thing unacceptable here , I bet if you have 200 active games and you finish them in 4 days, your rank will surely fluctuate this way. its my hard earned rank. Accept this Or you wont see me on this platform I swear.

Thanks for the information. Although your wide point fluctuation is rather peculiar, your system does not seem to be illegal. The only issue that could be raised is if you are finishing your winning games in a timely manner.

this... and the point system. If our score could represent the average of the last couple of monthes (updated daily) to calculate our lost/gained point against each opponent, we wouldn't suffer from "monthly scoreboarders" games causing such point difference fluctuations.

This guy is doing the right thing to be on top of the monthly scoreboard, it's not a crime, it's what people who want to get there do. Unless they are seriously taking someone hostage, they are doing nothing wrong. Point management... some made it to conqueror just like that.

If the admins made their monthly scoreboard stuff, they should do something in consequence to protect people from what they've created.

Mistakingly referred to it as what UC did, it was Josko-ri. (UC posted in the thread).

Evil Semp's ruling:

Manipulate is to handle, control or influence a situation. In this case it was score. The question is did he break the rules? I could not find where josko.ri broke any rules. Don't we alL manipulate our score by trying to win a game? This is a casual website where you can take up to 24 hours for your turn. josko.ri is CLEARED.

this scoring system is flawed, if this is illegal, it means we cannot play 1vs1 classic games freely. because if we win even 50 percent of our games our rank will still be getting lower and lower because of this scoring system.

Well, I am not going to argue anymore.

I will not do this again.

Congrats,
Nooruddin

Also, its a shame that you guys ban people from doing such things rather than implementing a way out of this.
I am a game software Engineer/developer too. I am going to let you know, how I would change design to overcome this so called illegal behavior.

1. First, provide options, like any one can join your game BUT, 2 rank lower person may not.
2. Second, change the algorithm of points losing and gaining. it should not be a straight up formula, Vary it with some factors. like how much rounds have been played? higher the round count lower should be the score awarded etc.
3. provide a cap in score losing, say One cannot lose more than abc points in a single game, and abc is calculated on both players stats i.e. percentage wins, attendence etc, and thats it, you can overcome deadbeaters here too.

Regardless of how many or less rules we have out there, as we are humans, there will always be a time or a situation where one may do something that may not be clear as black or white, or right or wrong, but this can still be interpreted as manipulation of the system. Let's take precautions in order to prevent this situation from getting worse. It is better for you to stop this score fluctuation to help keep others from imitating it or from giving them ideas in creating probable malicious ways to manipulate the scoring system.

==============

As for your ideas, as what Lord Arioch said, feel free to put them into Suggestions as I'm sure more will agree with you.
