I asked Persian Empire a day or two ago to apologize for using the racial slur, "Pollocks" in Global Chat. Instead, an argument ensued until I muted him and moved on. Upon signing in to CC just now, I again saw Persian Empire use the same racial slur "persianempire: Pollocks." I scrolled up a bit to see he had also continued to talk trash, commenting both "yah i would kill arisokocrat to givve it to megan fox" and "you should see arisokrats mom". While the harassment is a lesser concern his chauvinism and continued bigotry in Global Chat is unappreciated and I hope you will warn him that racial slurs will not be tolerated.

Serbia says "bollocks" and the response is always "pollocks"... i don't think it is intentional bigotry, because the racial slur ends in "LACK"... so, i think this is at best a misunderstanding between the two of you... and i really hope neither of you dies... this ruling should be interesting...-Jésus noir

I figured only Persianempire would buy that sorry excuse, Owen. There is no standardized or approved spelling of the racial slur. Just because the Wikipedia article is for "Polack" does not mean it is not also commonly spelled "Pollack", "Pollock", "polock", etc. His "misspelled" version of the slur is done to mirror the message "Bollocks" rather than worry about the most common spelling of the slur. Admittedly, Persianempire could have been referring to the fish, or Jackson Pollock paintings, but I knew what he meant because in the prior days as he cried about how Betiko led some sort of point stealing & dice corrupting consortium, he made various remarks disparaging French people, suggesting they needed a German to solve their problem. It is not a random slur or two, Persianempire has made a pattern of using bigotry in the GC. If his first response would have been, "I'm talking about (paintings/fish)!" I would've apologized myself and let it go. Instead, his response is to a flimsy pretense (which I'm sad to see you defend) and further instances of immature rudeness.

The word Pollocks isn't racial. If you feel offended by this word nevertheless, the best thing to do is to foe this player.
Also, if it happens in the chat room, contact the chat moderators. They can look into it on the moment it happens.

Notice any difference in the spelling of the two different words? Context is important. Please read the entire thread before contributing nonsense.

Since this is a Global Chat issue I have also reviewed the chat. When looking at issues for Bigotry, especially in this case where the word spelling doesn't exactly match the "accepted spelling" the context of the conversation is also take into account. In this instance it appears to be clear that there was no intention of Bigotry in the chat and that the words were merely a parody on Serbia and his Bollocks comment.

I therefore agree with the ruling made by the C&A mods. Please note that any issues involving Global or Live Chat can also be reported to the Chat Mods via pm to myself, Swifte, Razorvich, cooldeals, Masli, TeeGee. We will be best able to review any reports and make a decision. Also please remember to include screenshots of the chat for us to review since we may not always be able to access a log of the chat. This time we had the log available but it isn't always the case. If the matter can be brought to our attention immediately it is best.
