I've got to say, this is really getting out of hand. I invite all of the skeptics to have a look at my recently finished games. Aside from the 1 game where myself and crimson took part (accidentally, seeing as I didnt know he was in until I saw from after the email alert). I havent played with either of them.
Lets see if we can simplify the arguments:
1) Are Selma, Aces, CrimsonDeath or myself Multis?
- No. We are each dorm-mates who play this game. We are very much our own people and some of us (nudge crimson) are slightly smoking the funny stuff.
2) Are Selma Aces CrimsonDeath or myself a secret alliance?
- No. We compete against each other with all intents and purposes to win the game. The fact that we know each other or live with each other does in no way shape or form dictate our policies ingame. What dictates any treaties made or political decisions taken? Just like every other player here, starting position on the map is what initially takes responsability for any of our individual primary decisions or tactics.
3) Well, its clear you guys are working together........ uh, isnt it?
- Wrong. We do not work together, I'm not expecting that to be the last time that statement is made, I believe we've each made it clear in our own way that we play our individual games to our own style. Selma has even showed me a game wherein her opponent was making statements like:
- Selma, you'd better attack Aces here.
- Aces, you'd better attack CrimsonDeath here
- Selma, I hope you fix this mess caused by CrimsonDeath.
lol the list goes on but I will divide it into 2 parts. The above showing that even tho this individual accuses Selma, aces and crimson of working together, he seems to leave out that he barks orders to each of them worse then a bloodhound. (Congrats to selma in the end for proving that this guy's bark was worse than his bite). A quick tip before I go on to this individual who knows very well who he is, if you are going to accuse players of a secret alliance and working together because you were stopped from taking a continent, make sure you havent asked each player to help YOU attack another. You obviously were in an alliance with crimson, selma or aces for at least that one round where you asked them to attack whatever certain areas.
Just who do you think you are? Telling players what country they have to attack in order to "... not be a multi" why dont YOU attack? lol.
The second part of this player's conversational abilities included some frankly confusing methods. Statements such as:
- I see you didnt do blablabla..... that is obviously the move of a multi.
- You attacked here instead of there. What a surprise, what a multi!
and my personal favorite:
-Will (so and so) attack cloudrest? I dont think so)
*Cloudrest was conquered*
- Oh my! You attacked Cloudrest! This is Ridiculous!
(alright, I will admit, I was lost there. Didnt you just say that because you thought people were multi's, they wouldnt make a common sense play of attacking couldrest? And after it turned out that they did, they are ridiculous?
Hmmm, I guess the formula for the above is: Common sense move = ridiculous.
Anyway, I've bashed this guy enough, back to the questions you all want to know.
Well arent you guys waiting until whoever is not in your dorm is eliminated before you fight each other?
-No. Again, starting position dictates what a player's primary plan is. That plan will dictate who attacks where. All players are victims of primary planning. Thats the game. I recall noticing that in the game (with either relz0r or roby, Crimson and Aces were the first 2 knocked out. This isnt because they are bad players, this isnt because Selma had an alliance with anyone, this is because each player's primary planning and expansion started to confront each other and the weaker ones (while I'm sure dice may have played some key rolls as always) went out first. Aces and Crimson werent able to keep up with selma and either roby/relz0r depending on who was playing. In the end there is only 1 winner and whoever developped best while feeding on the weaker empires won the game.
The first casualties arent decided by any sort of secret alliance, its decided by expansion. Starting position will always dictate a player's first enemy.
We lost points. They must be cheating! Right?
-hehe no. Wrong. I've also lost points, I dont complain if I lose points to players from a same room. I dont complain if I lose points to a player who wins from an alliance (either secret or not). If someone is comfortable to form an alliance and still be able to keep ahead of his or her partner until the endgame (... ensuring a win) then they deserve the win.
I wont cry about it or complain. I was outplayed in a game? Fine, I'll move on and get some points from someone else. (you know? As is the purpose of the point system here?)
You guys talk the same. Cheaters! uh? Right?
hehe. Wrong. yeah, I suppose we have a similar lingo, around here tho thats not uncommon, you will find it alot. This in no way makes us cheaters hehe. I will tell you however, Aces is a hardcore Star wars fan and if provoked will go into some "relatively strange" role-playings. That is really the only inhumane thing that anyone who joins any of his games will have to put up with. Crimson tends to come off as drunk. Not that he is, he just is that way sometimes lol. Anyone who's played with him might notice he snaps in and out of conversations here and there and doesnt show signs of paying attention unless he's pissed off. Both these guys make any game their in (either 1 or both) colourful. Selma is more of the quiet type. She hasnt played alot of risk and she's more of a books person but again, she's got some bite if accused of things that arent true. Me? I'm the "group elder" because they range from 18-19 in ages between the 3 of them.
They're a great bunch of guys tho and keep me feeling young lol (... at my over-the-hill age of 24)
I'll resolve more questions as they come up.
