As far as I'm concerned this is not possible, and thus must be cheating.

He was eliminating players and therefore winning their spoils cards. When you have 5 cards at any given time you can cash them immediately, and if you have at least 6 then you can potentially cash as many times as you are able.

Oh really? Sorry, didn't know. It just looked so improbable ^^
