ratings abuse




Comments: routinely rates players 1 star across the board for the last 15 or 20 people he's played... kinda obvious he doesn't use the system correctly..

forget about me who beat him 2 outta 3... let's take culs de sac, one of the better players on here... culs is 3-1 against him... he gives culs 1 star across the board... really? lol

He's also used bigotry in one of my games he joined and then rated me all 1 stars

The burden is on you to provide public evidence. Public. Evidence. Evidence available to the CC public to examine, analyze, and comment on in a constructive fashion.

You don't want a CC where people are banned without public evidence, where a mod can just reply in passing, 'oh I checked it out and yeah there was an offense and don't ask for me to back it up because the evidence is probably there.'

The C&A mods use investigative tools in issues of cheating, multis, and secret diplomacy. Even then you're expected to post a game number and a brief abstract concerning why the suspicion exists. Quite honestly the burden of providing evidence is very small for you (5 games!!) and would be very large for them - lots of reports! - so in my opinion you're being unreasonable.

+1... I remember when I was warned for ratings abuse... mine were actually accurate but I only rated people who were horrible players... I thought it was redundant to give good ratings to good players, they know they're good players... but I was warned in very short order regardless...

Out of the list you copy and pasted without actually lookin in to the ratings, I found 2 instances of abuse. I eventually stopped wasting my time.

I would like to thank you however for giving us a prime example of why the accuser needs evidence in the first place.
Something that you thought was so obvious and easy, was not in fact ratings abuse.

really? you "stopped wasting your time" hahaha... ok.. well... if you kept investigating (pretty sure that's why you're a mod) you find that that the ratings following where you decided to stop are inaccurate, petty, and irrational... but of course you would stop where it supports your ludicrous position... you are the biggest joke of a mod I've ever seen... let sniffie back in here so we can get a fair ruling... how bout that?

You come here, you file a complaint incorrectly (you are aware Ratings Abuse needs multiple examples).

Then, you post a list of garbage where you provide examples that only show the accused leaves valid ratings.

I go through your garbage, point it out, and you respond by saying that I should've kept going?

At what point does it become your responsibility as an accuser to provide some evidence?

All you have to do is provide the examples you were asked for. The examples that you know are needed.

All you have to do is provide the examples you were asked for. The examples that you know are needed.

Get off your seat and do something around here a quit asking people to do all your work! Look at ratings left page 3 and 4 if that does not give you enough evidence than you need to scurry off your mod seat. Simply look at the responses page 3. Come on if someone dead beats when they lost does that condone 1 stars all the way around ? But that is not the case in some of the games he deadbeats then rates bad beacuse of loosing.

I completely agree that the onus is on the accuser. I know that, for example, I rarely bother to rate these days unless I particularly like or dislike someone which can result in a string of 1 stars, which on the face of it might look like abuse. You need to prove the case. It's not the mod's jobs (most of whom, let's remember are unpaid volunteers) to spend half an afternoon digging through a poorly structured set of largely random information seeking to verify your claims. If you care enough to accuse, then care enough to do the work to demonstrate the accusation.

There have been some problems on this site, which have largely been addressed, and addressed well. The bitterness should really stop, as all it does is undermine any valid claims against moderators, or requests to re-open cases by making the playerbase look like a bunch of relentless reflex whingers.

I know we're not supposed to post unless it's on point, but it needed to be said =).

I looked at 11 ratings. 9 were justified, 2 were abuse.

Ok here is the point, it took me two minutes to look at ratings left. Not half a day. Like I said look at page 3 and 4 look at a few games look at responses. No one is bitter around here but seriously how can you possibly rate that many ones.

BG you did take time I see but my point is that if things are against the rules around here then, doing some digging I don't feel is to much to ask of the mods. I don't see where in the "rules" it says how much evidence or even that a CA needs to be made to have a person be found guilty. If your breaking the "rules", your breaking the rules right? So my comments were not from a blind view. Also if you found 2 ratings were abuse what is the manic number that is in your rule book ? Would that not make you look into it a little more ?

And I'm not challenging you but the system here as something needs to be done to make this site a little more clean.

I kicked the crap out of hoytdwow yesterday in Arms Race. He got pissed.......didn't like me my rank........thought he should beat every player below him then it melted into a "war of insults." His last statement was "enjoy your rating." What a jerk!

for a commentary on how serious I take ratings (which are a joke btw) many of my 1 star ratings are for my closest CC friends... case in point.. Louie92, Clapper011, chuckD, Culs, Pixar (now that's irony if i've ever heard of it), lanyards just to name a few... just to name a few all got 1 star across the board..... funny players who are far superior to you couldn't care less.. though i'm sure if I gave you poor ratings they were honest and accurate...I'm sorry your life is so pitiful that you find it necessary to take the time to cry all over CC's forum... I know you don't like to admit when you're wrong.. who does? but do your job dude.. it's my job to go through this? ahem...no... it's yours... nobody did all this shit when i was accused, and you had no problem clicking on my 'ratings left' and warning me without actually looking at the games... maybe if you would have done what i've done here, you would see how that ruling was wrong as well...

Out of the latest list, I found 2 instances.

The others were justified OR they are merely the accused not understanding that "deadbeating" requires 3 missed turns. In the past, when someone doesnt understand the deadbeat tag, they often get noted and a PM from the mod

I do like how RHP is able to question his case, but when I show him where he was wrong, him and jltile both have a problem with that.
