Cheat - Dako [noted] BG

Accused:

Dako

The accused are suspected of:

Other: Using a script/robot/program to start the game for him in a freestyle map

Game number(s):

Game 10654416

2012-03-15 03:24:00 - Dako ended the turn and got spoils
2012-03-15 03:24:00 - Incrementing game to round 7
2012-03-15 08:27:17 - donelladan got bonus of 20 troops added to B5
2012-03-15 08:27:17 - donelladan got bonus of 20 troops added to B3
2012-03-15 08:27:17 - donelladan received 15 troops for holding Blanks
2012-03-15 08:27:17 - donelladan received 1 troops for 5 regions
2012-03-15 08:27:18 - Dako got bonus of 20 troops added to P2

As you can see on those line he startet his turn exactly one second after I started.
Then I was quite suprised he was on the game at that right moment ( quite unlucky, i was thinking to take some of his lands out before he started, at least one or two ^^)
So game was over for me I finished my turn :

2012-03-15 08:27:18 - Dako received 1 troops for 51 regions
2012-03-15 08:27:24 - donelladan deployed 16 troops on B5
2012-03-15 08:27:37 - donelladan ended the turn
2012-03-15 08:51:39 - Dako deployed 336 troops on B7

And u can see that he even didnt start playing before 24 minutes - even my game was over. So if we assume he was checking on the map to see when I start why he didnt play? And even if he was checking, since 8hours be able to start right one second after ... cmon :)
I was connecting all the day so don't tell me he just noticed I was on - he was on too and that's why I wait 5 hours to start my turn, 5 hours of waiting to click the right second after me I don't believe in it.

Might be same story on this game :
Game 10459140
Game 10459134
Game 10459131
Game 10052537

In all this map he won the city mogul, playing last, starting the map 1 or 2 seconds after the next player.
I know this is a common strategy on freestyle map, especially with an objective, but always one or two second? And especially in my case when he wait a long time before playing, I assume he is using smthg to start automatically in those case.

With clickies, can't you just open the game, put some kind of weight on your "b" key and then go to bed... once your turn starts it will make some kind of notification that your turn started noise, and you wake the "f" up and win the game.

I thought it was a weight on the 'B' button? Heck I don't know. I just know there are ways to do it which is why I avoid freestyle and any disparity between having an equal chance.

Dako's a good guy. He's not a point-grabber or farmer or anyone of that ilk. He is f'in clever on computers though.

Just as an aside, your deploy of 15 versus his of 336......don't you think the game was pretty much in the bag anyway? Do you honestly feel 'cheated' (as your title implies)?

Interesting case and one that will be hard to prove anything. As COF mentions the game was likely over, but I think this falls under abuse of the game if it is indeed true. I would like to think dako is clean here but we shall let the mods do their work.

had a case like this a month ago or so, unless you can "prove" he is using a script don't even bother reporting it. Game times aren't enough either you must have physical or observed proof of the script.

The case was against ISN2 if you want to look it up.

So to quote a mod on the recently closed GLG case, will cases like this be also classed as spurious unless you have some proof?

If I had played my whole turn before he started that would have been total different story, read the map rules and u'll got it. He had only one troops everywhere on the map, except 30 to go on my border with 86 for me.
Anyway he played well and might have win even without starting same time as me, that doesnt change that if he did cheat I think it has to be report. I really dont mind losing one game, I lost a lot and will lost a lot again.

And he might be a good guy, in this case it will be cleared and I'll send my apologies to him. But I think it need to be checked.

Mmmm.... Interesting. This implies that scripts may indeed exist for this kind of thing.... Mmmm....

???? that's why you avoid freestyle? because you don't believe you have an "equal chance"? hahahaha.. it's the only setting that allows for an equal chance home boy...

True ...Unless he is sitting there clicking refresh like a lunatic in the game , because he senses his opponent from miles away getting ready to begin his turn , the time gap should be more than 1 second..

and the accuser has also posted a laundry list of games , where the same thing has happened. Doesn`t take a rocket scientist to see there is some abuse going on there..

It's totally possible to create such a thing, and not a huge stretch to believe that someone would have done so at some point.

(I'm not saying that dako did, just that it can be done.)

Thanks Foxy. Scary thought.... One more reason to stay away from freestyle.

rhp, you're so totally wrong. Come play freestyle with my internet connection and you wouldn't make such bs remarks, homeboy!

You must be kidding right? Data transfer speeds, clickies - the things that allow a player to make 3-4 territory hits in one second (my average is probably one territory in 5 seconds having to go to the dropdown menu each time). Why do you think farmers opt for freestyle every time? It's the advantage they know they have.

As for a script to start a turn.....couldn't really care one way or the other. The whole game changed with BOB and snaps and all the tools that removed thought (and thus human error). Once they arrived on the scene the game became fairly idiot-proof (to the detriment of what I consider fair play). Continue the trend and I wouldn't be at all surprised to one day see a script that proposes the best move(s) to make every turn.

I remember ljex doing this in an Oasis game on his run for Conqueror.

Game 7887697

2010-11-15 11:39:01 - General Nix received 3 troops for 6 regions
2010-11-15 11:39:02 - ljex held the Find The Treasure objective

There's no way to prove that he wasn't sat hitting the B key repeatedly, but I just thought I'd throw that out there to show that this kind of freestyle manipulation is almost common practice.

It doesn't mean that either Dako or ljex aren't great players on their own respective fields.
