Accused:Pedro NunesThe accused are suspected of:Other: So-called "NR farming"

http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=239&t=159596&hilit=pedro+nunes#p3494877Looking at Pedro Nunes games now (mid-February): he appears to continue to set up games that gets more NRs than non-NRs in them, see:

Comments:So
200 of these games have been set up since early January (no game joined). I see around
380 NRs (220 page 8+160 page 7) in these games (that are still NRs that is, there appears to be a few more accounts that were NRs at the time the game was initiated).
The maps /settings varies somewhat, but most are adj. forts, esc. cards with fog of war, Caribbean Islands and Europe map figures a lot – these were settings and maps that figured when he was noted & warned.
Looking at his full game list, there are other types of games as well, but these 5-player settings/maps that tend to draw NRs are still very prominent looking at the total. Not my call of course, but as far as I can, it may be so that he hasn’t taken enough account of the past warnings since this may still be considered NR-farming since there alot of these types of games in the past month and a lot of NRs (basically continue doing what he did when he was noted/warned, but just adding some little "spice" to his overall game list).

Already seen Pedro and knew he was farming NR's but as I have mentioned before I am not wasting my time on these kind of reports as the punishments are just lame and there is no real punishment for doing this kind of stuff..but nice to see your still on your crusade...

Just a question about point Farming NR's. Here is the rule regarding Farming:
Systematically Farming "New Recruits"
If you are found guilty of New Recruit Farming---that is, systematically joining games with new recruits in order to "farm" newbies for points, you will find yourself escalating on the New Recruit Farming Vacation scale.
How can you be found guilty of Farming if you "Started" the game? I understand that many NR's join the types of games he is creating. However, the rule clearly calls Farming "systematically joining games....". If he started them, he did not technically "join" them. Since the games did not exist before he started them, he could not have joined them.
If the intent of Farming is to limit the number of Games a higher Rank Players plays against NRs, then the rule needs to be re-written.
FYI, I agree that High Ranks should not purposefully seek out and take advantage of NRs.

You misspelled "efforts figure out how to cheat the system as much as possible".

If this was the real world, Pedro would be found innocent as the rule clearly states that Farming is the JOINING of NRs games, not the making of games where NR's join them. This is yet another example where an original incorrect ruling has led to more incorrdct verdicts..
Either change the wording in the rule or stop inforcing it incorrectly.

The wording is fine. These people know what they are doing. Do not try to defend the undefendable.

Hello Pedro Nunes,
Your account has been issued a New Recruit Ban.
Term of ban: 72 hours
Issued by: BGtheBrain
Comment:
You were already made aware of the concerns we have regarding your farming of new recruits.
1st Report: viewtopic.php?f=239&t=155503
2nd Report: viewtopic.php?f=239&t=159596
You have ignored both previous warnings and have continued to setup games that attract new recruits. As a result you have received a 30-day new recruit ban. You will not be able to join games that involve a new recruit and more importantly, they will not be able to join a game that you are involved in.
Here is a link to the rules regarding farming:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=73745
If after the ban is up, you resume the farming, you will receive a 3 month ban from new recruits.
Regards,
The Conquer Club

Hello BGtheBrain,
Before answering to your message I took a few minutes thinking if I should answer or not. In fact, I am still not convinced if it worth the time I am dedicating to write about this subject. But I have decided to answer. This way, I want to tell the following:
1. I did not ignore the previous warnings. I made my defence and told to King Achilles what was my judgment about this issue.
2. You are doing me a favour by banning my account of newbie’s. In fact, I think you should extend this ban till the last day of the payment that I have mad to play CC.
3. In case you didn’t read it, I re-send you the message send to King Achilles about this issue:
For future memorie:
Hello King Achilles,
Yes, I have read you messages.
I have some things to say about this subject.
1. I play this kind of maps since I joined CC, and as I am sure you will agree with me, I am not farming since the beginning of the game as I think it is understandable.
2. This way I ask myself one thing… If, by choosing this map with this kind of options, I am being “accused” of farming, why wasn’t I warned before? Because I play this way since the very beginning, with the same exact game options.
3. More. If I am being accused of farming by playing with new recruits, I guess the players with higher ranks that join my games must be punished too. Because they are supposedly taking advantage from the new recruits too, in case they win the game I create. Are they going to be warned not to join games with new recruits created by others?
4. Taking a look at my recent rank we can see that I have lost a big amount of games which make me go back from Major to Lieutenant. Many of this games that I lost also included new recruits. My point is that I have much more to loose then I have to win. But it happens that this one is my favourite map since the beginning of the game. I play the maps I create whether they have new recruits or generals.
5. Since your first message I started to play different types of maps with different types of settings, as you can easily confirm by taking a look at my games, which states my good will in showing you that my objective in playing Europe’s map it is not the one that you suggest.
6. I joined CC 3 years ago. I also pay to play and I do it from the heart because I really enjoy the minutes I spent here. I am very confident that I am not violating any rules or the ethical principles of CC. This way I have no intention to stop playing in this map with these settings. Still I reaffirm my intention of playing other type of map with other types of settings to prove that I am not farming.
7. If you decide to eliminate my account from CC, I am peaceful with your decision although I disagree with it.
Best Regards
Pedro

Many Thanks

who cares what the dissision was. All i can say is that if the accussed finds himself hard done by then it will be obvious he was farming new recruits. the punishment that has been issued makes me laugh though because the people who do this (setting up games and nr's joining ) always say well plz ban them from joining my games and instead of adding it as a fair option for players which they say they will not do they have added it as a punishment tarnishing players names with a ban.

The whole point is by the exact wording of the rule:
New Recruit Farming---that is, systematically joining games with new recruits in order to "farm" newbies for points, you will find yourself escalating on the New Recruit Farming Vacation scale.
By the letter of the law he is not farming. Because he is not joining the games. This is the only rule for farming so there is no interpretations needed.
If the Mods want to inforce this properly instead of how it is now, chanee the rule to read:
New Recruit Farming---that is, systematically joining of / or making of games condusive to having NR's joining these games, in order to "farm" newbies for points, you will find yourself escalating on the New Recruit Farming Vacation scale.
The rule clearly states you have to join the games in order for it to be considered farming. The mods are using their judgement by enforcing the rule out side what it actually states. Which when you think about it is very funny since they could do the same thing for all the people skirting the law of farming by waiting for the 5 games to be played.
