the word retard is taking the piss out of people with a disability. it is a vile word used to say they have something wrong with them. so like the word fag it is bashing a person.

No it isn't. Retard is like gay: some people use it as an insult, but the word itself is not an insult.

This is something I want to try out by using 'fagging' in a sentence, but I'm 90% certain the apparently all-American moderation team wouldn't get it.

If in there proper context you would be surprised what most people would understand, he was fagged out after the long run. she carried the bundle of fags on her shoulder etc,.
