KraphtOne [cleared] Mas

The accused is using some software program or device to allow him to open turns in freestyle games, even if he is not present to give him an unfair advantage. To my knowledge any such action is a gross violation of CC rules, conduct, and policies. KraphtOne and myself are opponents in a tourney titled "It's Your Choice" which has a freestyle play element to the structure. Anyhow, things were moving along as normal until the close of round 9. I opened round 10 and at the exact instant I opened the round KraphtOne opens his round and this after being offline for multiple hours. I was completely shocked to see that kind of response even if he was watching the game to see an open take place. To be scooping out a game like this was also completely unnecessary since KraphtOne had the game won for all intensive purposes. To my amazement he did not deploy men, and the entire hour runs it's course without any action on his part and he "runs out of time" I turn the tables in round 11 and KraphtOne is currently in danger of losing the game in question. Regardless my point is that to have some special software to in essence have a bot open rounds is cheating and by all my knowledge is forbidden conduct.

He is likely using a weighted 'b' button and CC does not consider that a rules infraction and you will find several f/s players do that crap.

That happened round 10. He took round 11 turn. It's his own dumb fault for not being there to drop. His reward was lost troops.

I never heard of a weighted 'b' button, thanks for the info jefjef. Is this readily available to all players and where can you access this ability if I can ask? Thanks again

If you have a b button on your keypad I spose it's available to you. I've never done it but I'm not a free style player either.

Wow, I am thankful I am not a regular freestyler because this would drive my crazy. I have very briefly begun to browse at the past forum discussions on this matter, linked to from jefjef's post above, and than links within that forum post, and one thing that sticks out is the overwhelming majority see this as an abuse or unfair advantage. Now I am not a freestyler so my opinion means little, but I can see why the moderators have ruled the way they have, but with so much objection to the tactic, I am surprised a change has not taken place. I would propose a required action within the first minute of opening a round to discourage this behavior. Maybe just a box to click under the chat next to note to self. If the box is not clicked within one minute than close the guy out. Just a thought probably would need much discussion among freestylers of which I am not. I will be following along here since this has sparked my interest

I was offline for sometime and logged on and jumped to that game first thing after joining two invites. I am not aware what the status of my opponent was. Hope that clarifies the bold part for you Karl.

I had this happen to me in a game; the first time it occurred, I was like wow, this guy must be real bored as he's camped out at the key board; I ended. I started my turn again a few hours later and wahlah, he started at the exact same time again. Let's face it, ending first in freestyle is a normal tolerated strategy. After the game, this player sends me a PM advising on what he had done to circumvent me ending first; he explained that he placed a weight ( small rock / marble ) something that is heavy enough to depress the "B" key or begin on your keyboard to initiate a turn at the exact same time you would start. Clearly Its a cheap move that is tolerated by admin. Many, many players utilize this cheap tactic on standard games to gain maximum deployment without losing a bonus.
With that said; I use the B key to start on freestyle speed games as this is the only way to keep bonuses as players are just too fast nowadays; the E key is also utilized to end a turn immediately. The difference is that I am there and personally depressing the b key to start my turn as opposed to manipulated way to start when you are physically no where around your computer.
I agree with you bandit, to eleveate this tactic, if a turn starts simultaneous to yours, a short time limit should be imposed to deploy troops or lose them which will clearly end this type of cheap play.

This has always been one of the cheapest tricks imo.

Then again, i'm even lamer- i'll sit there for half an hour spam clicking 'b' to begin my turn :/

lol i dont see the problem with holding the b key as long as you are around i have in some games lost 7 teritorys before i even have my screen come up to start. I see it as a fair tactic in speed games when you are playing people with faster internet than yourself.

But what you also need to think about is the fact of if you are rt'ing a game then go offline, and have stopped playing to gain an advantage of the other player not being around then you are in fact using a similar cheap tactiic. if they are gonna pass judgement on this as a guilty then they will also have to look at the above as well.

I don't agree with that. I've played freestyle games where I ended my turn first and something came up irl where I had to be. When I took my turn the next morning, I gained an advantage over the other player, because he wasn't around. But you can't possibly say I was being cheap. No wait, you just did. I don't agree though.

If this was on purpose - that is absolutely hilarious. If it wasn't, it's ironic :p

Very funny indeed.

I think the question was, "were you just sitting there for a few hours hitting the b button, did you have it held down by a book, or did you just let the script take care of it?"

Your failure to explain that part of it is fairly conspicuous. I dont care mind you, but being so pissed at delay tactics in a freestyle game, is pretty funny as well, if you have some object holding down the key, or some script making sure you get your full drop, while youre not even near your computer.

Some might call it hilarious actually, or at the very least, a bit hypocritical. Some, like myself, would certainly call it both.

I myself, assume you just were hitting the button for hours though, because someone who cares so much about the integrity of turn taking in freestyle, and literally foes people who waits for the right time to play their move, would never resort to anything less than that.

Like many stated before me, putting a weight on the keyboard is not against any rules.
