Accused:
Briannederloe

The accused are suspected of:
Maybe...Conducting Secret Diplomacy

Other: There was definitely something here, I just don't really know how to label it. It is explained in comments.

Game number(s):
Game 9063902

Comments: The game was an assassin game in the Play Small Feudal Lords TPA tournament.. http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=143283 It was the 2nd round, the 1st round was 1v1, winner advances to this type of game.

The first 5 or 6 rounds of the game went as a usual assassin game on the Feudal map. I had green as my target, which means it is clear that red has blue, and blue has red. I made some aggressive moves and found blue, so I held off and took a different direction from my other castle, and found my target in Great Kingdom. I killed him off easily, and then built while blue took out my other castle at Imperial Dynasty. Since I had Realm of Might and now TGK, I was able to sacrifice losing that 3rd castle. I read the log and seen that green had made considerable territory gain, which meant he was in the Feudal Empire Castle and the Northern Plains. I built up for 2 rounds, then opened the TGK 5 door. There was his stack of 32 sitting pretty. Now he had been removed from TGK 2 rounds earlier, yet his stack was sitting at the border. I was not his target, and he knew I took TGK from him, so why wouldn't he move his troops back to Feudal to take out Blue in Rebel Castle and Barbarian Castle? Blue was his target.

After taking down his stack, on his next turn, he decided to deploy again on the border between him and I and then attack me. Now, I understand this could be a stop-gap from me advancing on him, but he had 8 more terrs. than me, and he was outdeploying me. Blue had taken my Imperial Castle 2 rounds earlier, and was moving fast to ROM, and then TGK. The entire 3 rounds of this, green only hit me, thus leaving his target to reap the benefit of eliminating me without a fight.

This is the problem with the Secret Diplomacy label. I am cannot say for sure that it was, because I have no evidence of it from blue being involved. What I do have is Green saying in round 9 of the game, that he didn't know it was an assassin game, and blamed it on a brainfart...I find that hard to believe. Round 9, Assassin game, and he all of sudden realizes his target was blue not me???? I stated I would be posting this, even if it is cleared, which I assume it will be, it still at least is documented for the future, since these two opponents of mine are low game number players!

Honestly, he should of know the how the tournament was to play out. Especially with benga as the TO, he knew that the round was assassin. Benga is a great TO weather or not it's a TPA tournament or now and always sends out messages to his tournament players to inform them of the rounds and what not. You may have a case, but we will see how it goes.

I have a problem with multiplayer tournaments that allow more then the winner to go through...
SD or brainfart, it is quite simple. green does not have to win the game, as long as he does not loose it. So just sitting tight and stacking against his persuer is the best thing he can do to make sure of that...

after all an SD needs to have a relation between the 2 going outside of the gamechat. Him either just having a brainfart or just thinking to win the tournament by loosing the game is not an SD.

i think this is problematic in tournaments. Also friends can simply and unilaterally make the call not to eliminate their friend/neighbour ect ect.. its a good tactic to rather face the enemy you know in later rounds then this one..

I do it too, except if i find a dutch clanmember as an opposing player i know i need to take them out hard, or they kill me first.. it has pro's and cons... ;-)

This is rediculous. I admit that it is my fault for not recognizing the game was assassin but if you look at my game history you will see I rarely play anything other than standard format. I was playing with that strategy in mind from the onset of the game out of habit. Also, how exactly would it benefit me for blue to win the game in a tournament format if only the winner advances? I have always played by the rules with moral intregity and take offense to Kenny777's allegation. Even if I had known it was assassin, why would I allow him to continue to advance on me? I have looked into Kennys game history and he has a habit of being a poor loser and complaining when things don't go his way. This was mistake on my part and an unfortunate set of circumstance for Kenny but that is all it was, SD, cheating, or underhanded play is not my style.

Yeah, I agree with you on this, I made the same argument in favor of two other players accused. I guess I just have to avoid these assassin tournaments, because that is the only setting where the players NEED to follow the rules.

Looking into my game history or ratings doesn't change what you did! Regardless of how I played in the past (my ratings are mainly low due to my play in 2008-09), it is not even a valid defense here. It is a deflection from the matter at hand.

Whatever. I admitted to not paying close enough attention to the game settings and do not need to defend anything as there is no motive or proof of anything underhanded going on, just an honest mistake. I have never been accused of cheating or poor gamesmanship (even in 2008-2009). You foed me so I don't have to hear from me again and I don't have to be subjected to your whining . Good riddance.

Well it is not entirely good riddance. As I said, this would be probably be cleared in your favor because there is no hard evidence. Just the statement you made in-game (round 9) that you didn't know it was an Assassin game, I guess that bulls-eye next to blue's name should be enlarged? Maybe it should say "SHOOT THIS GUY IN THE HEAD TO WIN!"

Briannederloe = CLEARED

I would refer back to the TO as this seems to be a problem with this tourney:

chapcrap did the same thing...

It is all clearly stated and I have sent a pm before start of tournament, if people are blind it's not my problem.

I did everything I could!
